Well, in terms of success, I'd say his downward spiral was massive. This guy was in the same category of success as Michael Jackson, Madonna and Springsteen in the 1980's and yet his last album...

actually, Darius Rucker's country album is selling very well especially for this poor sales climate, so I think he's made a bit of a comeback of late.
