Has anyone else noticed new releases from WB seem to be stubbornly sticking with 24.99 as their release day price?

I first noticed it with Suicide Squad. Hasn't been below 24.99 yet on Amazon...

The answers for me are quality and availability.

Now for TV stuff or movies I don't love (rentals, impulse viewing), streaming is fine. But I would personally never rely on it for my favorite...

The way media is organized (and I use that term loosely) at Target and Walmart gives me a headache. I never get anything there unless it's a new release. Best Buy isn't much better. There's no point...

With new releases I will usually pick them up day 1 unless it's something I'm OK with waiting another 6 months or so to see since in my experience day 1 is usually best price in that time frame.

Digital ownership is an oxymoron in most cases IMO. Unless you have the content DRM-free and downloaded to a local asset which is not subject to network outages, license revocation, permission...

Yeah something didn't smell right about that explanation. Maybe they meant only select stores would get it Friday who knows. Potentially the biggest release of the year and they are giving away sales.

I was just making a joke but honestly if that's the best you got on disc reliability...I'll take that any day over the transience of streaming content.

I have to admit I am getting more and more turned off to buying as well. I used to blind buy a lot for 19.99 or maybe even 22.99 on release day, but 24.99 is stupid. I would definitely picked up...

FWIW both the new RoboCop and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit were 12.99 at multiple stores within their first two weeks of being released. More of that would definitely help considering you get the UV and...

Oh I bet many of them have fancy HDTV's. it seems like the average person goes nuts to get the latest and greatest HD cable provider to show off that HDTV, but then cheaps out for movies on media.
