I feel like I haven't seen a lot of marketing for the PSVR since it's initial launch, both the hardware and the games.

I was curious how the fairly "weak" specs of the PS4 would handle VR compared to the steep requirements we see on PC, I guess downgrading visuals is the solution.

I've used an Oculus at a trade show and the Vive at work. I guess I would say it's a step up above a fad in that it will probably be around for longer then a few years like the Wii or Kinect, but...
