They're not really a format though, they're a "tweak". Have you seen it in action? Most electronics stores will have at least one display showing 120 Hz in action, it's that weird, soap opera effect...

I bought a Samsung 46" LCD two summers ago and it's pretty good. It doesn't have 120 Hz, but quite frankly that's a pretty unpleasant feature to have anyways.
