Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

There was a big update for the PS4 recently - wonder what it could've been after all this time.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

The Witcher is easily the best of those, the initial game is huge, and the added DLC is more than generous - it's a lot of great game there, go for that!

Though being a bit familiar with Witcher...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

You do need rest. It's also possible that you may have turned into a vampire - that can also illicit such responses.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

They both have mods, Sony just won't allow 3rd party, copyrighted content on their mods. Like, you can't mod dragons to be Pokemon, or something.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I didn't time them or anything, but they FEEL like about half as long as load times on the last gen consoles.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I tried to look at the available mods, and it said I had to sign into Bethesda, but I couldn't (through my PS4). Is that the only way to access mods - I don't really feel like creating YET another...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Yeah, played a bit (PS4). It's definitely more stable. The big upgrades are 1080p and a rock solid 30fps. The textures are improved, but not by much. The biggest, most noticeable graphical upgrades...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Saw this and it's $15 extra. Not sure it's worth that.

I mean, retailer exclusives used to be extras to get people to go to your store. Now that they're charging extra for what is essentially...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Fuuuuck...

Guess I'm buying this and sinking another 100+ hours into it.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I personally wouldn't equate "fun" with sense of accomplishment. Like, I have zero competitiveness in me, so when I play something like a fighting game, it doesn't matter to me if win or lose, I...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Well, yeah, I bought every house too, but Whiterun was my main, go-to house, and where I had most of my stuff, including my "wife" and Lydia, and since my character's female, it's a total lesbo...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Me too. Windhelm felt too desolate and Riften too skeevy.

I have the DLC to build my own house, but it seems like too much busy work with having to gather your own supplies, level up and actually...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Agreed. While I like a lot of the mods (like the graphical enhancements), I feel that shit like this just cheapens the game, and keeps me from getting into it.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

You can buy one - but nothing beats the horse you get when you finish the Assassin's Guild quest line.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

For me, half the fun of the game was just randomly exploring the world while looking for where to go and finding random places that aren't part of any quest. But doing it on horseback, of course.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Yeah, there's a cool mission in the main quest that gets skipped if you get too far into the civil war questline first.

BTW, where in the game is that cabin he "retired" to?

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Yeah, while I've saved my game a few hundred times, I only keep about 20 saves.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Same here. I have about 120 hours logged into the game (360 version, installed). I had around one freeze per 10 hours of gameplay during my first 80 or so hours. But in the last 40 hours, which...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Yeah, I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk about Dragonborn, as it's essentially Skyrim 1.5, with a dash of Morrowind thrown in. It's pretty huge.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Should the main game quest be completed prior to taking on Dragonborn? (It's the only thing I've left to do, holding off, because I don't want the game to end) I'm sure it could work either way, but...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Eh. This Hearthfire seems more like "Sim Skyrim" than anything having to do with gameplay. Sounds like it's geared more towards the obsessive type of gameplayer, which I suppose is a majority of...
