Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

I would be very surprised if it did. They don't add features to mobile games when they put them on a console. It's most likely a straight port.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Yeah, it's the Apple Arcade game which would explain why there's no couch co-op. Pretty sure I gave it a try when it first came out.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

That's not correct, is it? I see physical games in the home screen list, it just has a little symbol of the cart in the top left corner so you know it's a physical game, not downloaded.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

30 games, 338 hours. Most played was Zelda of course, at 101 hours. 2nd was Octopath 2 with 64 hours.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

The remakes of Mario RPG and Star Ocean 2 were definitely the highlights for me. I LOVE the remake of Star Ocean 1.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Smaller worlds, sure. I'd argue against being simpler to navigate. Today's games have maps, map markers, quest logs to reference..etc. Hell, Deb mentions DQ11 which literally gives you a story recap...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

The early RPGs of NES were FAR more vague about what to do and where to go than they are now. So, good luck I guess.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Wouldn't it be easier at that point to just watch the cutscenes on YouTube? Those settings make a RPG like FF nothing more than a story to experience. You're removing all the gameplay.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Do you really need all those cheats to get through NES games?

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

As of today you can still re-download original Wii games you have purchased even though the online services shut down a few years back. That's almost 20 years of service. And when that ends, you...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Maybe they made adjustments to the game. Didn't one of the armies look similar to the Russian flag?

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

I don’t see a thread for it so I’ll post here since I played on Switch.

Return to Monkey Island was absolutely brilliant. I don’t have any kids but I could see the love put in by the devs. If...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

I believe only if you have the online service which puts all your saves on the cloud. Otherwise, they’re locked to the console. I lost my Zelda save from my original Switch, which I sold before the...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Finished up Live A Live over the weekend. Interesting game but probably one I won’t revisit. It was fairly short and was very shallow for a RPG. I saw 3 endings and did all the side content (of which...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

It’s really hard to say how it is. Every chapter is different and they’re all fairly short. I’m sure there is more after you do them all but nothing in any of them gives any hints as to how they...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Is anyone else playing Live A Live? This game is wild. I had no idea about it going in other than being from my favorite Dev, using my now favorite graphic style. I’ve gone through 5 of the stories...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Sadly, I agree. I ran to my Switch to download as soon as it was announced and launched. Wasn't a fan of the strategy sections with the Angel. I'll go back to it eventually but put it down after...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Same. I went from a Lite to an OLED which was a HUGE upgrade. The dock & joycon grip is still in the box.

I'm glad I didn't finish Metroid before the new console arrived. That game looks...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

My OLED is arriving today and I have a question about system transfer.

I see a note that the new system has to have enough free space on it but I use a 512 SD card which has more on it than the...
