Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

hmm as good as dragonborn supposedly is, not sure it's worth a rebuy even at a reduced price just to try it if there's no other DLC on the horizon.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

So it looks like Dragonborn is out for the PS3. I'm interested in playing it but I sold my copy a while back. Any thoughts on if it's worth picking it up again (looks like it's $40 at many stores...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

that looks like a cool expansion finally a whole new land area. Too bad jack shit hasn't hit the PS3 yet. Not regretting selling my copy when I did. If any of this ever comes out for the PS3 I can...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

True but they made such a point to say the DLC wouldn't be like the early Oblivion DLC and this one sure seems a bit that way.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

ha so much for a big expansion the likes of Shivering Isles. The first two sure as hell don't seem like that at all.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

It's funny I've had a few issues with my PS3 copy but nothing major. I finished the main quest as well as most of the side quests, but just found I lost any interest in playing it. I still will pop...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

From what I've read it sounds like Dawnguard is more akin to Knights of the Nine than Shivering Isles. If so that's a disappointment I was hoping for a nice big DLC rather than a more scaled back...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I haven't touched the game in a long time and the Thieve's Guild story line is the one remaining major plot line I have to play. I agree, it is just not a compelling series of quests.

Yet I still...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

so what's the deal with dawnguard? does it take place in a new land mass or is it still in skyrim proper with new locations or is that still unknown? Not really that excited about the Vampire crap,...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Yup grabbed it the other day. The map is great but usually I just use the UESP for quest related info.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Supposedly the DLC will be announced this month according to some of the rumors. Hopefully it's as good as Shivering Isles was.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Interesting, I did go in the water right before I experienced the crash. I'll try that.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

downloaded the update on PS3 and had it lock up on me about 20 minutes into playing. I have no idea why Oblivion was so rock solid yet Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Skyrim freeze like crazy on the PS3.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I'm expecting something more akin to Shivering Isles than Fallout DLC. Hopefully that will make it worth the wait.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Finally got my smithing skill high enough to create Daedric Armor and was able to improve it to Legendary. Wow this stuff is awesome, so are the Daedric weapons! Much stronger than in Oblivion.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I bet using Mehrunes Razor on top of all those would make it even easier.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Anyone know off hand where a wood elf is? I need to harvest blood for a quest and that's the only one I'm missing.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Ugh, Shadowmere died when I ran down a cliff while riding him/her. Also, realized the quest with the Elder Scroll also has a Daedric quest as an optional part of it that I didn't complete. The...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Is the only way to get some of the stronger Armors by smithing them? I've been stuck with blades armor(fine) and steel plate boots, along with that weird hooded mask thing, and orcish gauntlets....

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Just finished the main quest and I have to say I don't get why people thought it was much better than Oblivion (the main quest). I found it to be a pretty big let down. Hardly had the epic feel of...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I'm finding that due to some of the changes in the menus and play style (such as the inability to cast spells with a shield in hand and a sword) I'm rarely using a shield and instead using a lot more...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Same here, the map feels smaller and less diverse. In Oblivion I felt like I was on a large continent with distinct regions (from the plains near the imperial city, the swamps of Bravil, the coast,...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Played some more, not to say that I'm not enjoying it, but I think I like Oblivion more. Too many changes to the interface for my tastes. It plays too much like Fallout now.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

you can also see yourself like you could in Fallout 3/NV. Switch to 3rd person and hold down one of the trigger buttons (or both can't remember) and then rotate the right thumbstick.

Nowhere near...
