I managed to blow through both Ridley and Mother Brain because I had a metric crapton of missiles. And I didn't go out of my way to find them - I just went to both of those fights with 120 regular...

They should have just done no pre-orders. Just set the day they'll be in stores and keep a steady supply coming through the holidays.

Then they don't know their brand at all. A mini NES or SNES when kids who grew up with them are now adults, right at Christmas? Ridiculous to not expect crazy demand.
