I've never seen a PS4 on the shelf. I see Xbox Ones nearly every time I'm out (today at Target, for example.)

My kids also know to dock the controllers, not only because I have taught them to but because they don't want dead controllers either.

My first one was packaged fine. Plenty of airbags inside, box was in great shape, etc. That one was DOA.

My replacement had a partially squashed exterior box, flattened airbags and overall looked...

Ok, got a new PS4, hooked it up and it fired right up! 1.5 downloaded fast and I'm just getting everything setup now. Just must have gotten a bad system the first time around.

Exactly. I unpacked mine, carefully checked everything over and plugged it in...and nothing. That seems to be a majority of the complaints about the system.

I'm curious to see how the one I get...

Yeah, I tried those things before packing it up. It was just DOA. Ah well, a new one will be here soon.

I've bought plenty of systems at launch and have never had an issue. No reason to expect it would happen to me. "Luck" of the draw and I'll have a new system on Monday. I'll live.

Wow. Got home, opened the Amazon box, hooked everything up...and nothing. Pulsing blue light, no video signal. HDMI cable is seated fine. No obvious metal or anything. Tried 3 different HDMI cables...

I went to two Targets and a Best Buy this morning to find a PS4 camera (Best Buy came through) and saw zero PS4s out. Best Buy had a lot of Dualshock 4s but no systems at all.
