This is pretty much how I see it: somewhat akin to a certain Mr Ellison but probably with more overall success and somewhat less prickliness.

Maybe he needs to consider engaging a team of writers to help him to fulfill his implied commitment to his readership.

Better to do that now rather than on his deathbed methinks!

The time has come and gone for that particular chore as the eight or nine volumes I possessed now reside with my nephew 100+ miles away and my current to-read shelf contains probably a year's worth...
