Sorry, I meant dozens. Lots of tiny indie freebies and 7-8 full games. I use a 32 GB stick. Does the job, but it's pretty full now and I have to delete stuff to add new stuff and couldn't fit...

The DS to DSi isn't really the same thing. You need to look at gaming obsolescence -- the system you bought in 2011 should still be able to play new handheld games you buy 4 years later. I don't...

I kind of assumed it's a jury-rigged new handheld solution to move some new hardware in 1Q 2015 in light of the good sales numbers for the 2DS/3DS/3DS XL and the poor sales for the WiiU.

Buy one. Not a 2DS for God's sake and I really recommend getting a 3DS XL as I couldn't really see anything on the 3DS screen in 3D due to the limited viewing angle and the very small screen.
