Finally picked up the Jean Harlow TCM set and pleasantly surprised to discover four individual DVDs inside. Also pleasantly surprised to see the display still up-it's been over a month.

Saw the $3 Warners sets at one of my local stores.

No sign of the TCM sets, though. Really want the Katharine Hepburn and Jean Harlow sets.

I made out like a bandit with the MGM $1.88 titles last year but this year's crop, unless there are some surprises, just look like retreads of stuff they've stocked for months.

Surprisingly sucky. They're being undercut by Walmart and BestBuy on CD and DVD prices. And why are the cheap TV's always shitty brands? I am eyeballing a $189 32-inch Panasonic, but at Best Buy.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the $38 blu-ray does not have built-in wifi (the $67.99 Samsung does) and the 14 inch Asus is lacking an optical drive.

I want Invasion of the Body Snatchers really bad, but both copies I found at the Troy NY store were floaters:(

Will be hitting East Greenbush tomorrow...maybe I'll find some surprises there.

"The Stranger" is also showing up for $3 as a single disc at Big Lots. In fact, I picked it up there. Would kill for Woman In The Window and more importantly, Scarlet Street if that ever made it out...

That $1.88 was a treasure trove of surprises...there was a lot of stuff in there released in the late 80's by Vestron Video and then released on DVD by MGM sometime after the turn of the century.

Oh man, I bought that TCM Best Pictures set back when it first came out. Good to know those sets are drifting in.

May have to invest in that "Sunset Boulevard" if I see it..have the one-disc but...
