Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

These are all likely to come remainder marked, right? Unless by luck the pen doesn't fully pierce the plastic?

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

I'm probably missing something here in terms of a defined sale, but Amazon is doing a ton of digital coupons on individual books. I don't know if there's any rhyme or reason to what is eligible (many...

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

Thanks. There's 20 pages stuff if you filter down to books then comics/graphic novels, although some non-comic stuff is in that mix too. Some stuff from the b2g1, but more TPBs in the sub-$15 range...

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

I believe that was ebooks only.

No coupon for a single book for Amazon either this year, unless they drop it tomorrow for Cyber Monday.

They were running a B2G1 on select titles but I didn't...

Re: Evolution of the Direct Market

Sure, some dealers at cons have $1 bins of unbagged, unboarded, and unorganized comics from the bronze age through today. If you want to spend your time hunched over a box flipping through literally...

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

They promised you a new book. A book with damage or that is clearly read is no longer new. If you want to return them, just tell them. If they try to tell you know, threaten a credit card charge...

Re: The "They need more respect thread"

Gwenpool originated as an amalgam of Gwen Stacy and Deadpool from a variant cover of "Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars #2"

It was so popular they decided to make a series. But it's not Gwen Stacy:...

Re: Cosplay guests at cons

I guess it's one thing if the cosplayer buys table space at the con. To me, that's no different than the artists selling unlicensed prints and merchandise of characters to which they do not...

Re: Industry Rant

It's bad enough it's hard to get a complete story with modern decompressed writing in a 5 to 6 issue trade, especially when issues are down to 20 or less pages per issue.

This uptick in 4 issue...

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

I bought a few DC books to plug some gaps in addition to a couple of the weekly deals. I almost went overboard on DC books, but the extra 1% discount compared to the often available combo of 45% off...

Re: Industry Rant

There's no perfect analogy but I think eventually the industry will come down to digital (singles and trades) with the physical goods just being deluxe print editions.

Re: Thoughts on DC's Golden Age omnibuses

That's actually a Michael Cho cover on the Suicide Squad Omnibus cover, but it certainly evokes that Cooke style found on the other Golden and Silver Age Omnibus covers that Cooke did draw. Cho also...

Re: "Shang Chi, Master of Kung Fu" comic series to be reprinted starting Summer 2016!

This is only recently true, if at all.

Marvel overprinted everything, including Omnis, for years. They've been blowing out some of the same Omnis for years. They still over print most of their...

Re: Help/Advice needed on a HC & TPB I purchased.

Amazon is 1000% buyer friendly when it comes to Marketplace sellers. If the sellers you bought from won't make things right for you, just escalate it to Amazon and you'll absolutely get your full...

Re: "Shang Chi, Master of Kung Fu" comic series to be reprinted starting Summer 2016!

It depends. More Omnibuses now are printed with art covers, with less getting the plain covers. Sometimes it's the same as the dust jacket art, sometimes it's the variant dust jacket art, sometimes I...

Re: "Shang Chi, Master of Kung Fu" comic series to be reprinted starting Summer 2016!

Because it is from 1996. It's still the same old format and design of the old EZBoards that existed from 1996 until 2005 when it was re-branded (maybe purchased by another company?) and called Yuku,...

Re: The ALL NEW....so yeah whats worth reading?

Uh what?

The title of the thread is: "The ALL NEW....so yeah whats worth reading?"

Referring to the "All New All Different Marvel" current branding.

"ust curious to see with a bunch of the...

Re: Intercompany Crossovers (i.e. DC v Marvel, Archie Meets The Punisher, Spawn/Batma

I don't believe that's ever been officially solicited by either Marvel or DC. It appears on Amazon from time, and then eventually goes away or never progresses into more. Been like that for years now.

Re: Dad Selling Comic Books for Daughter's College Tuition

No mention of any particularly valuable key issues or anything like that. The stuff in the pictures wasn't bagged or boarded either. Probably mostly Bronze Age - particularly late Bronze Age - stuff...

Re: Batman v Superman on the comic shelves

As PhantomStranger said, it's definitely the bookstore edition. The "Warner Books" at the bottom is the giveaway. "Warner Books" was for bookstores and almost always gave the trades a different cover...

Re: Rob Liefeld (or Sal Buscema?!?!?!?!) - Worst comic book artist ever?

JRJR prides his current style on being better at storytelling than his earlier work where he was still figuring out his own style. Plus he's efficient with it and turns in his pages on time. His dad...

Re: Thoughts on DC's Golden Age omnibuses

You really like the thinner paper? Some printings are practically see-through with the thin paper Marvel is using these days. And that thinner paper is much more prone to getting wavy with the...

Re: Thoughts on DC's Golden Age omnibuses

Unless the price changed, DC's company spine logo changed, or the country it was printed in changed, then probably not. DC isn't usually like Marvel changing cover material or paper quality to the...

Re: Thoughts on DC's Golden Age omnibuses

The Superman Golden Age Omnibus Vol. 1 is in stock on Amazon, and if your direct market sources don't have it yet, reprints are definitely on the way:

SUPERMAN: THE GOLDEN AGE OMNIBUS VOL. 1 HC...
