Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

Also the problem is when they have those B1G1 etc sales when they are matching BB/Target, that one is a pain and it's better to use google.

Re: The One and Only Asian movies reviews, comments, news, and appreciation thread

I watched this years ago when it came out in the theater (I must have been one of the few) . It was a nice meta-ish neo noir. The culture differences were interesting as well. Since it just came out...

Re: The Unpopular Movie Opinion Thread, Part III

Since it's been years (maybe a decade) since I've seen the movies, aside from the 3rd one, which one is the best Potter film?

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

Aren't some of the available (for shipping) ones just some that are available in store? I ordered Army of Darkness and it was shipped from the store.

Re: The Unpopular Movie Opinion Thread, Part III

I'd agree. I will say I do like parts of every movie. But aside from the 3rd one (which is the only one that is really good imo), I always got the feeling that it was missing something or I just...

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Hoping my order gets shipped out with all my items (a couple of things I ordered went OOS, who knew that French film Natalie could be so popular). But Hamilton is great if you know what you want and...

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I believe that Revenge of the Shogun sisters was sold out when I made my order.

And yeah most of the Scorpion titles were on sale before at Ronin. I only picked up Bucktown.

The Kino at $5.95...

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I think it’s generally 8-8:30 pm CST. Someone who can give a more specific answer , feel free to do so.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

So they’ll have 30 MGM Scorpion releasing bds on sale for 4.95-5.95 generally, with the most expensive one at 7.95. I hope Johnny Cool is part of the drop.

And the other label w/100 titles in...

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

They did do a decent Vin Syn drop for $9.95 on certain titles last year. I'm guessing one of the labels is Arrow (prob. the 30 title one w/decent amounts). 9.95 or less would be my price points for...

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

This seems relevant for monday's new drop:

Simple explanation: On Monday there will be a 30 title drop from a label with a decent amount of stock. There will also be another drop of 100...

Re: Vinegar Syndrome - Subscriber Week Sale

Just looking at stock levels, I'm betting there's a lot of repeaters for the UHD daily deals tomorrow. Both the Beastmaster, Ebola Syndrome have 1000 in stock. Out of Order has close to 700. I'd...

Re: Vinegar Syndrome - Subscriber Week Sale

The best film (imo) today already sold out in Knife+ Heart. I already picked that up via Hamilton books. I usual avoid those SOV/Home Video types that Vineagar likes to put out. It's just not my...

Re: Vinegar Syndrome - Subscriber Week Sale

LOL that is the perfect definition of arty.

If one were to buy only ONE of the Taiwanese films on sale today which one would you pick? I really dig neo-noir, 70s-90s film, like learning about...

Re: The One and Only Asian movies reviews, comments, news, and appreciation thread

It was kind of fascinating reading how you guys hunted down Cantopop and HK cinema. My exposure is easy to explain. It was a family activity, at least in the late 80s-early 90s. There was a video...

Re: Vinegar Syndrome - Subscriber Week Sale

Yeah, there were definitely some repeaters in there today. Still I picked up Buried Alive, Red Surf and Mindfield. I'm on the fence about Zerograd and...ahem The Hole in the Fence. Any opinions on...

Re: The One and Only Asian movies reviews, comments, news, and appreciation thread

This is a really interesting discussion to me. I think you're correct in that those songs were generally elegiac. They were appropriately placed whenever they showed up in the film as well. It...

Re: The One and Only Asian movies reviews, comments, news, and appreciation thread

Yep. I can't stand Cantopop but HK "crossover stars" just dwarf the ones in the West. To the point where I can't tell which one is the side gig for someone like Andy Lau who made a ton of films...

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

LOL, the stapled packs. They are called arks on the other site. I've only gotten a large box from Hamilton once from making a large ass order (I think it was like 10 BD's). I've never had anything...

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I found the French Noir deal at $14.95 a great deal since it rarely goes for less than 24.95 during the Kino sales.

re: In The Land Of Saints And Sinners (2024, D: Lorenz) S: Neeson, Condon, Gleeson, Meaney, Hinds

I hate to bump this old thread and this is a crime film but it's not the usual Taken rehash dreck that Neeson has being doing for the last 10 years. It's set in Ireland and in the 70s. I kind of...
