Re: Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024, D: Kenan)

I'm concerned about the amount of popcorn that thing can hold.

Re: The Crow (2024, D: Sanders) -- S: Bill Skarsgard

These movies are all for angsty teenagers, y'all are just old now.

Re: The Watchers (2024, D: I Night Shyamalan) - S: D. Fanning

It's based on a book so if there's a twist it should be out there on the internet.

Re: SNL 1975 (D: Reitman)

I haven't seen that one but I enjoyed her in both Shiva Baby and Bodies Bodies Bodies.

Re: "Evil Dead Rise" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

I liked this one a lot because of its darker edge. The setting was a much needed change of pace as the cabin thing is just played out. Also the fact that the characters are a likable family instead...

Re: "Talk to Me" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

My mom passed away just under two years ago so this one was a lot for me to process. I was definitely ugly crying by the end, but in a good way. The film was very well done and emotionally...

Re: "Dream Home" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

I'm assuming Cantonese is the original language? Was this shot with sync sound or all ADR?

Re: "Terror at Tenkiller" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

I know this isn't a great film, but I don't think it deserves its reputation as one of the worst slashers of all time. Halloween is the film that kind of kickstarted the slasher subgenre, but the...

Re: "Ringu" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

I love J-Horror from this era, they excel at atmosphere and dread, which are two of my favorite vibes of a horror film. I like moody slow burns and this film along with Pulse, Ju-On, Dark Water, etc....

Re: "Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

I've always enjoyed this one but this is the first time I noticed the influence from the Universal Monster films. Jason really feels larger than life, less of a backwoods hillbilly and more...

Re: "Ebola Syndrome" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

This is the second time I've seen it and I honestly think it's hilarious. It's so ridiculously repugnant that it goes way beyond offending me and just making me laugh.

Re: "Dementia" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed but during the scene where the protagonist is running away from the cops there appears to be a nearby dog who started chasing her in all of the commotion:

Re: "Dementia" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

This was a nice change of pace. I wonder what was the reasoning for making this a "silent" film. Surely talkies were the norm by this period of film history. It's always interesting to see how...

Re: "Final Destination 2" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

Yooo the lottery winner that "became rich" won $250 thousand, I'm dying. Take me back to 2003.

Re: "Cat's Eye" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

I think our boy Stephen was coked up when he wrote this one.

Re: "It Follows" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

I always saw this as less about STDs and more about the loss of innocence when you transition from adolescence into adulthood. Sex is probably the last major milestone to mark that transition and it...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 19th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

Re: "The Witch" Reviews/Discussion - 2023 Horror Challenge

I haven't watched it myself, I just ordered it from Second Sight and it's on its way to me. However Robert Eggers was supposedly unhappy with how the HDR grade turned out on the Lionsgate and worked...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 19th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

Last night I started with The Shiver of the Vampires UHD from Indicator, which was a fantastic presentation. Like Rollin's other films, this was a slow burn with Gothic atmosphere and plenty of...
