Re: Which music forum out there is best?

Well, let's see. You used a profoundly offensive word to describe a large group of people you've never met. Your use of the word can be explained in either of two ways. You're either oblivious or...

Re: Which music forum out there is best?

I agree with everything said about the Hoffman board. There is way-too-much "Hey, I found a Bulgarian, mono vinyl 45 of Paper Back Writer. How much is it worth?"

Re: "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" by Lobo - who has heard this song?

Wow. I never expected this thread to come back.

But, yea, I'm bored, too. :)

I understand and accept the distinction between album-oriented artists and singles-oriented artists and firmly...

Re: One & Only Yourmusic.com Thread I (BMG R.I.P.)

Gee, thanks, Evan, that was way helpful.

BTW, 3CDs constitutes a box set. Duh.

Then again, your response is more than I've received from two emails to yourmusic.com

Re: One & Only Yourmusic.com Thread I (BMG R.I.P.)

Anyone have troubles with the 15% off ALL box set sale? I tried to order the Takacs Quartet, Late Beethoven String Quartets. 3 CDs. Box set, right?

The sale price didn't kick in. I emailed...

Re: "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" by Lobo - who has heard this song?

"to not like this song, one would tend not to like any of the acoustic-guitar driven pop songs of the Seventies. Songs like Sundown by Gordon Lightfoot, or Chevy Van by Sammy Johns, or anything by...

Re: "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" by Lobo - who has heard this song?

Re: One & Only Yourmusic.com Thread I (BMG R.I.P.)

Am I the only one getting bad vibes about yourmusic? At the beginning of September, they had to go to the fourth item in my queue before finding something they actually had in stock; fwiw, the two...

Re: "Favorite" Artist Tournament: Opening Round/Group #1

I check this thread periodically to make sure Duran Duran isn't still ahead of Ray Charles. And they are.

Re: One & Only BMG Music Service Thread (Part 6)

Re: Elvis Costello: Secret, Profane & Sugarcane - June 2, 2009

I saw Elvis last night in Cary, NC (suburb of Raleigh). Band includes such Americana notables as Jim Lauderdale. No drums but a violin and an accordion.

So, the set is heavy on the new stuff...

Re: One & Only BMG Music Service Thread (Part 6)

Why they would "add" a CD they don't actually have...

Re: One & Only BMG Music Service Thread (Part 6)

emusic is a subscription download service for independent labels. There's a lot of good stuff there but nothing from the majors. So, you'll not find Springsteen, U2, Dylan, et. al.
