Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

I would wait a few more days. As people start receiving their sets I'm sure they will be giving a full report of the contents. I'll post as soon as mine arrives unless someone beats me to it...

Re: ALIEN COVENANT: 4k Ultra HD/Blu-ray

Woo hoo! Standard Steelbook blu-ray for me. I am loving that "Alien: Covenant" steelbook design!

Re: The last Blu-ray you bought (Round 3)

I read an article about the disappearing Aussie Mom & Pop video stores and it stated that the Aussies are buying up DVDs and Blu-rays in a frenzy... Some of the most obscure stuff is highly sought...

Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

I suspect when it arrives you'll be incredibly happy you took the plunge...especially if it goes OOP swiftly! It'll also put a smile on your face and make ya feel like a kid again.

Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

I just checked Amazon UK and it says £40.95 but shipping in 1 to 4 weeks...personally, not sure I would be comfortable with that. I believe it generally means they are out of stock already. When...

Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

Where were you planning to place your order? I ordered direct from Indicator at about $54 USD. That's not much considering the execution and content of this set. Especially considering what people...

Re: If physical media went away completely, would you be ok?

I think there are two different archetypes: Those who enjoy watching movies/television shows simply for entertainment and those who share the same interest but also enjoy the act of collecting and...

Re: Last BD (or, unrealistically, HD DVD) you watched?

I was in a mood for music... My attention span wasn't there to sit through a movie. That's why I love concerts. I can sit and watch and then get up and not feel like I have to be glued to my...

Re: Last BD (or, unrealistically, HD DVD) you watched?

Seriously? They are going to attempt a second reboot? I hope Marvel is involved this time. But even "Spider-man: Homecoming" isn't something I am chomping at the bit to see... Put them in the marvel...

Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

Does Warner Bros. do any licensing? I believe they have done some in the past. The only one that comes to mind immediately is "Being There." It would be wonderful if Powerhouse/Indicator could...

Re: The last Blu-ray you bought (Round 3)

I dropped by Walmart and was surprised to see the Shout Factory release of "Ben," the sequel to the original "Willard" for just $12.96 so I grabbed it along with the dump-bin title, "Texas Rising"...

Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

I believe I read that on their Twitter or Facebook page...but I was hard pressed to come up with what they might be....unless they have somehow acquired the Warner Bros. stuff...

Here's the list...

Re: What should I watch (probably Bluray) with laid up mom?

Hmmm...My Mom is 80 and she surprisingly loved both "Big Eyes" and "Big Fish." She and my stepfather access VUDU and they both enjoyed those Tim Burton Films.

Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

If this set is everything I am hoping it to be, I'll double dip without hesitation. Evidently they have the rights to 8 more Harryhausen films. Filled with...

Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

Well they stated that they would be shipping early… A few days prior to release date if you ordered directly from the Powerhouse/Indicator website... i've been checking my mail hoping they already...

Re: WONDER WOMAN: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray

I vote for 3D and hopefully packaged in steel... I'll import if not released domestically.

Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

Correct. I don't believe you can honestly judge on a static image. They have been used to criticize a number of releases that proved to be pretty stellar and admittedly some not so stellar. I am...

Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

I hope your tongue was planted firmly in your cheek, because those posts over at Blu-ray.com had me rolling on the floor… As if anybody's focus would be on the torch flame.... so we're gonna worry...

Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

Thank you. I think the biggest reveal is the mountainside image. The lost detail on the Twilight Time disc is staggering! Does anyone see excessive EE (edge enhancement)? I used a magnifying glass...

Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

There are other venues as well as Indicator's own website where you can purchase it for about $54 USD. The link is in the OP. I only use Amazon when it is the only source for what I need.

Re: The Sinbad Trilogy - Ray Harryhausen - Indicator Films

Of course I love watching a film in its "best" possible presentation. But as a consumer I must weigh any "perceived" improvements versus the cost. In most cases, I find that the flaws pointed out by...
