On the back of the "Holocaust 30th Anniversary edition" it says:

May be edited from its original network version.

First of all - it MAY be editited? They don't know whether it has been edited...

The European releases were always in 16:9 and they do show more on the sides - so the 1.33:1 releases are cropped and not the 16:9 ones.
