Knowing - July 20th (audio...

Re: The Official Bond on Blu-ray Thread

Re: Planet Earth documentary question for thos who have seen it?

most of it is great, although if you have the dvd as well (and of course another dvd player) the best way to show it off is the long shots of camels in the desert episode. when i showed it to people...

Re: Are all Sony UK Blu-ray special features region-free?

most are region free, but there are a few exceptions like Rambo (2008) which aren't. and don't believe the sleeve either - Rambo states region free, and either Black Hawk Down or Tears of the Sun say...

Re: Criterion releases on Blu-Rays

I think that says more about how viable $40 DVDs are these days, rather than some charitable gesture of subsidising the blu-rays. And while you may argue that other studio DVD catalogue is also...

Re: Do Blu-Ray discs from the UK work in American players?

One other to watch out for is otherwise region free discs which for some reason have the menu in the PAL format - the Artificial Eye disc of Zatoichi comes to mind here. Sometimes these get noted on...

re: AKIRA coming to Blu-Ray in February 2009; re-released by FUNimation in November 2013

I've just watched the Akira BD, and thought I'd share my opinion on it. Much of the first half of the film is visually less stunning than you would expect on blu-ray, and there are several scenes...

Re: Terminator 2: SE Blu Coming{rumor}

I suppose being a multi-region sort of person, I'm also thinking of the various different cuts that are only available on separate discs across the world, and the fact that we have VHS, laserdisc,...

Re: Terminator 2: SE Blu Coming{rumor}

Is T2 now the most released title in the history of home video? Surely Army of Darkness (or anything else Anchor Bay own) isn't close?

Re: Fox announces new titles for Qtr 1

French Connection 1 came out in the UK 2 months ago, so I'd say that the US disc is likely to be relatively similar as it is Fox here too

Re: Will there be more earlier movies on Blu-Ray?

re: Criterion releases on Blu-Rays

I'm so glad I bought a region A PS3 now - all that needs to happen is the dollar to crash against the pound so these releases are a bit cheaper!

Re: [Rec]

There's little point in buying [rec] on Blu-Ray as the whole film was shot on DV - at least with 28 Days Later you had a minute of footage in 35mm at the end...
