That's what I'm guessing too. They outbid us (Shout) for the Handmade library and then just put them out as quickly as they could. We would have made them special editions... oh well.

No, H4 and H5 are not part of the Lakeshore catalog.
Image is now run by the former head of Anchor Bay, so they are going after titles since they know the licensors.

Very true... but if Echo Bridge cared about what they were doing and knew, like I did, that Paramount had a nice transfer, they would have contacted Paramount to get access to the master.

Echo Bridge offered Miramax more money that we (Shout) did.... and you can see that Miramax was more concerned about cash than having someone take care of their libary.

Shout Factory put in a nice bid for these films... but Echo Bridge came up with more cash.
So, as you can tell by that, they wanted money more than they wanted their product given quality releases....

Our (Shout) transfer of AUDITION was a new one done last year from the inter-negative which was flown over from Japan, hence the reel marks, as the inter-negative is used to make film prints.

Lionsgate Double Features slated to come out with THE EXPENDABLES are out at Wal Mart

I went to the Wal-Mart in Oxnard and they had a cardboard display with all the double features for $10.00 each. I saw:
Rambo/First Blood
Universal Soldier/Lockup
Crank/Crank 2

Battle Royale is up for licensing finally in the U.S.
It's being sold at the American Film Market this week.
So there will be a U.S. release!

Except that we would have to clear every photo with the studio or photographer and that can get expensive especially clips from other films.

It's all about price. Those Echo Bridge Blu-Rays in many cases are under ten bucks.
I'm not quite sure how one stays in business doing that.... but they do :)

STARCRASH is an Italian production and was made a year or two before BATTLE. Footage from BATTLE has shown up in many films including SPACE RAIDERS and in the trailer for FORBIDDEN WORLD.

I can't say at this time. Sales need to improve on Blu-Ray. Sure, the studios are selling a lot, but many retailers won't even carry our Blu-Rays so the sales are low... and the cost of making a...

We only did one slipcover - Piranha - and it's not on the Blu-Ray because the amount of units we made was tiny compared to the DVD.... because Blu-Ray sales for independents are very low.... and the...

Yes, we are finalizing both discs this week (it's a two disc set) which will give you an idea of how many extra features are on the set.
We did a new transfer from the U.S. IP and it looks pretty...

Code Red didn't control the rights to the film. BCI did. It was a BCI release, not Code Red. They were contracted to create most of the special features on the release though.
