Re: The Killer (2023, D: Fincher) S: Fassbender - Netflix

I thought the Killer’s aliases were a dead giveaway this is a darkly comic film.

Re: Road House - remake (2024, D: Liman) S: Gyllenhaal

I liked it for what it was. Not as absurd and over the top as the original, but it was still entertaining. I’d love to see MacGregor in a Statham movie. I think without his over-the-top menace in the...

Re: Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024, D: Kenan) -- The Reviews Thread

1.5/5 for me. A D+

Completely pointless and boring as hell. Stop strongarming Murray into coming back to a series he clearly has left behind him. The best part of the movie was the Regal ghost...

Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray

Mission Accomplished. Someone bought them for $130. Another set from Disney is on their way. After an Andor preorder they were $36 total.

Re: Cameron Talks Avatar Redux, 3D, Titanic, Abyss/True Lies Blu-ray

I’m tempted to put mine up for an absurd price and just rebuy on Disney Movie Club

Re: RIP Disney Movie Club / Sony Taking Over Disney's Physical Media Production

Still waiting on three orders. Received one order and they put someone else’s stuff in the box. Managed to get a supervisor who confirmed it would get resent including the out of stock titles. Was...

Re: RIP Disney Movie Club / Sony Taking Over Disney's Physical Media Production

Nope.

All catalog stuff. I had an order with the Cameron stuff too and the other things in that order already arrived.

Normally expedited shipping with them gets here in 4 days tops.

Re: RIP Disney Movie Club / Sony Taking Over Disney's Physical Media Production

Made three orders last Thursday morning and paid for the highest level of shopping. A week later still no tracking number despite them saying they shipped.

When they do arrive should I ask for a...

Re: RIP Disney Movie Club / Sony Taking Over Disney's Physical Media Production

Given they're firesaleing the new Cameron 4Ks ($12) through this while Amazon is asking $25, I'm sure they'll be happy for Sony to handle distribution moving forward.

Re: Dune: Part Two (2024, D: Villeneuve) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

Regarding Alia

Jessica is still pregnant with her at the end. She speaks to Jessica, voiced by Anya Taylor Joy who also briefly appears as her much older to Paul in a vision.

Re: Dune: Part Two (2024, D: Villeneuve) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

He was 100% filmed as the actor was confirmed, just cut from the final film as was Tim Blake Nelson who was likely playing Count Fenring. They do shift Hawat's major action to another character and...

Re: Dune: Part Two (2024, D: Villeneuve) 2une: I Could Dune This All Day

Yes. The IMAX screening I was at was so loud it wasn’t an issue though.

Re: Dune: Part Two (2024, D: Villeneuve) 2une: I Could Dune This All Day

Yeah. It’s a really good movie, not great. I’ll totally buy it on 4K, but there were sone changes that didn’t make sense and omissions that make no sense given the film could have been more tightly...

Re: Dune: Part Two (2024, D: Villeneuve) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

Really good, not great. 20ish minutes too long. Zendaya delivers a great performance here that is often dialogue free. Walken is badly miscast as the Emperor. Hopeful they adapt Messiah. Also found...

Re: Poor Things (2023, D: Lanthimos) S: Stone, Ruffalo, Dafoe

I feel insane seeing the hype for this. Walked out of a theater for the fourth time in my life at the halfway point. Went in blind and was never expecting Emma Stone channeling Simple Jack in a...

Re: Saltburn (2023, W/D: Fennell) S: Pike, Keoghan, Elordi, Grant, Mulligan

Same here. I’d rank it as a B solely for the twist. It wasn’t hard to put some of it together and it would have been an A in my book had they left it slightly ambiguous.

Re: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023, D: Wan) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread -- RIP DCEU 2013-2023

A sad end to the DCEU. That said Momoa and Wilson are a great duo and really keep an overly long, drawn out plot moving. Worse CGI than The Flash, solid villain, and the tap dancing to try and...

Re: Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (Apple TV+) - premieres 11/17/23

Same here. Next week if it doesn't get back on track, I'll finish it up sometime in the future when the whole series is out; past two episodes have been pretty mediocre and the weakest of the two...

Re: Do you prefer Micheal Mann or Christopher Nolan movies?

I enjoy more of Nolan’s films, but Thief, Last of the Mohicans and Heat are absolutely amazing; Nolan hasn’t come close to matching that level of filmmaking.

Re: Thanksgiving (2023, D: Eli Roth)

Saw it tonight. If you saw the fake trailer from Grindhouse you’ve seen nearly every great kill in this. The original fake trailer is far more brutal though. Enjoyable film, good blend of black...
