Re: Need to know if Criterion is a bootleg.

With the amount of poor movies being made today, many trailers are the equivalent of Cliff Notes.

re: Will our collecting come to an end? [merged]

I tend to use the library as a means to prevent blind buys and enjoy oop dvds. I guess you could say I rent from the library as it is in the next county and I pay $30 a year to use their services as...

Re: The Horror Film Club

No one at my house has watched the entire movie except me. My daughter said, "Tell me you didn't pay more than a dollar for that movie".

Re: Buyer's Remorse

I'm more apt to be pissed with myself when something goes out of print that I was waiting for a rainy day to buy. The only time I buy a new release is if someone has asked for it as a gift or a long...

re: Will our collecting come to an end? [merged]

In my area Time Warner and the competition have lowered bandwidth after customers complained about the caps. Currently my bandwidth is the lowest that it has been in over five years. This morning TW...

re: Will our collecting come to an end? [merged]

Many ISPs are already putting limits on speed and bandwidth consumption. If you champion streaming, be ready to pay a lot more for a film in the future compared to what you are paying now for a dvd....

Re: "You need professional help"

Does your grandmother hate movies in general? One of my grandfathers was a projectionist during the golden age so it was never a problem.

re: The African Queen? 23 March 10

For those who can't wait for the dvd, TCM is showing it at 2:15am on the 17th of December. TCM lists it on their December 16th schedule as their daily 24 hr. schedule generally begins around 4:00am.

Re: Trauma -- New Series -- Monday's on NBC

Common sense would have told NBC to not air an expensive show against Monday Night Football. Airing on another night would have been better for Trauma. Hopefully the ratings will improve after the...

Re: Comments, Suggestions & Feedback for the 2010 "October Horror Movie Challenge"

It's getting colder outside but it's warming up in here. ;)

Shellebelle you need to define Teen Scream, it's hard to agree or disagree when I'm not really sure what the category would include.

Re: RIP: Edward Woodward

I totally missed this, I guess I need to edit some preferences in Google news to remove the media whores so I can view stories that should be listed.

A nice body of work and to have The Equalizer...

Re: The Shining...cut or uncut? FIGHT!

I know that King was not happy with Kubrick's The Shining but King's attempt was rather boring. I think the problem lies in the difficulty of creating thoughts and presence in films. Dean Koontz has...

Re: The Prisoner (AMC miniseries) -- "Arrival" -- 11/15/09

God help these people if Patrick McGoohan comes back from the dead. For those who have never seen the original, this has done a huge disservice to the original.

Starting the show off with a...

Re: The Prisoner complete series, which is the best set?

The best DVD set is the Network R2 set. It makes the original and 40th A&E DVD sets look like something from the dollar bin.

I can't comment on the Blu-ray set but it sounds like A&E got smart...

Re: Fawlty Towers - Remastered

I really don't get the point of why droidguy1119 reviewed this new set. It's obvious he doesn't like the show although he says he doesn't dislike it and since he already owns the original release a...

Re: "Superman Returns" the Bryan Singer Cut

Re: Comments, Suggestions & Feedback for the 2010 "October Horror Movie Challenge"

The G Rating was much broader in scope in the past than it is today. Many of the G rated films previously listed would obtain a higher rating if presented to the ratings board today. The Haunting...

Re: Comments, Suggestions & Feedback for the 2010 "October Horror Movie Challenge"

The only suggestion I have for the Horror Film Club is that the titles are selected far enough in advance and that they are carved in stone for the dates assigned. That is the one thing that really...

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 5: The Results

Why is this list a highlight of the year? I waited like a little kid on Christmas Eve awaiting Santa. For those of you who don't know who Santa is, he can be found in Silent Night, Deadly Night.

Re: The Compleat Beatles...will it ever be on DVD?

The Compleat Beatles was an answer movie to an unauthorized Beatles documentary that had limited showings in 1977 which may not have been as polished but had better content. It took more time to...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 5th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (Oct 1-31) P

I think we need some examples since my forgetting something made me think of, and I hate to use the term, franchise movies.

Usually the first movie was good but then something unimaginable...
