I would say Monster Cable should be an upgrade over the cables that tend to come with a dvd player. However, I feel Monster Cable brand is way over priced. I do all of my current shopping for cables...

Right now I have a 5.1 Onkyo set of speakers that came with my prior Onkyo HT in a box purchase a few years back, nothing great but they do the job till I shell out some $ for a new set of speakers....
