Re: Toby Keith (1961-2024) passed away at 62

I was talking about the way he treats other normal, everyday people like waitresses and the armed forces; not a very public feud he had with another celebrity….one which he even said he regretted.

Re: Toby Keith (1961-2024) passed away at 62

I knew he was sick, but I had no idea it was that dire. Who would have thought when Beer For My Horses came out, that Willie would outlive Toby?

His Greatest Hits (98) was in the first batch of...

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Buckeye Country Superfest from July, 2022. Unbeknownst to us, my wife was pregnant for this show.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

And Best Americana Album for Weathervanes. I wanted to see King of Oklahoma win something, but that song seemed way out of place under Best Americana Performance.

Re: 2024 Grammy Award Nominations Announced

Was really hoping In Your Love would take these home, but Childers got shut out on the night.

Re: 2024 - What are your streaming device for movies and television?

AppleTVs for our main TVs since they just seem to be the fastest and we don’t have any special needs.

Nvidia Shield for the theatre since the Apples don’t play nicely with lossless audio. We also...

Re: Old show or movie you never watched when released but feel is too dated to enjoy

For me, older shows just seem like more of a chore to watch due to how long both the seasons and runtimes are. I look at something like MASH, which I was too young to watch when it aired, but have...

Re: Alec Baldwin accidentally kills DP with prop gun, director shot as well

I was expecting a couple tweaks, but those are some major changes between April and December. Is there a copy floating around from the way they were written at the time of the shooting?

Re: Alec Baldwin accidentally kills DP with prop gun, director shot as well

I'd be fine if the other producers got charged. It sounds like this set was a shitshow.

From NMS 30-2-3:

And a couple things I've read recently regarding safety standards for scenes involving guns (Source (https://www.csatf.org/production-affairs-safety/safety-bulletins/)):

Re: Need Advice on Subwoofer Purchase

What's the budget now? Your room size is pretty similar to mine but you have higher ceilings. I came in with 1 SVS SB-1000 and added a second when we moved into the house. I upgraded to 2 PB-2000...

Re: Songs That Become More Popular Years After the Initial Release

I’ll add You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling after Top Gun. I wasn’t around for when it was first released, and it looks like it was a pretty big hit then. But the movie really gave it a resurgence of...

Re: Your 2023 albums of the year.

2023 seemed like a down year for me for new music. Probably a lot to do with a glut of albums getting pushed out post pandemic, and artists spending 2021/2022 getting back on the road to make money...

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

I posted here during Ken's first week hosting that I wasn't a fan, but I'm fully on board now. As others have said, he's grown into the role and seems much more comfortable with the gig. His...

Re: Oppenheimer -- 4K, BD and digital -- 11/21/23

It's not FOMO. I would have bought this for $32.99 last week if I could have found it. We've been wanting to watch this, but my wife will never sit through 3 hour movies in one sitting, so watching...

Re: Oppenheimer -- 4K, BD and digital -- 11/21/23

All the Targets near me are now showing in stock for the UHD. I placed a quick order for in store pickup after not being able to buy this anywhere last week.

Re: RIP Netflix disc rental service 1998-2023

All the bonus discs showed up in queues immediately upon closure as being shipped. It basically sounds like a big gimmick for whatever reason, as there were very few people who actually received them.

Re: What's the first nude scene you can remember having a real impact on you in a movie?

Somewhat relevant to this thread, but does anyone remember Kathy Ireland's shower scene in Necessary Roughness? I watched this movie a bunch on HBO back in the day and finally revisited it on the...

Re: 2024 Grammy Award Nominations Announced

Really strange seeing The War and Treaty as Best New Artist when they’ve been around for a decade with at least the past 2-3 years as a national act.

I was hoping Weathervanes would get an AotY...
