Re: Reading X-Men! Tips and Advice?

Pretty meh. First issue had a pretty good moment / idea, but the rest of the storyline was pretty standard / unsurprising / predictable.

Re: December/January/February General Comic Discussion (Winter Wonderland Edition)

Jason Aaron did a 4-issue story that spun out of the X-Men crossover called MESSIAH COMPLEX. That was issues #62-65. Then Millar comes in and does #66-73 and OLD MAN LOGAN GIANT-SIZE #1, all in the...

Re: Rammstein - Liebe ist für alle da 10/16/09

Their heads were absolutely superimposed onto "stunt doubles." Flake, the keyboardist, is not a shemale. Also, they all have girlfriends / wives who I am sure would be against their man filming a...

Re: Rammstein - Liebe ist für alle da 10/16/09

I've heard three songs so far, all of which have been great. I know people hate the English, but the band doesn't take themselves seriously, so I don't either.

The PUSSY video was hysterical,...

Re: Most Disappointing Film this Summer (2009)

Pushing the definition of "summer," here, but WOLVERINE was 90% awful.

Re: Excalibur (Singer remake) - New, Rumors, Cast, Etc.

I can't imagine they'd need to get rights to the name EXCALIBUR, I mean, the word itself is public domain, as is the entire Arthur myth. Of course, the specific takes on characters / situations from...

Xena: Warrior Princess - Orphan of War

Twice. First, the flashback where Xena gives her infant son, Solon, to Kaleipus, leader of the centaurs. Just imagine giving up your child, but, worse yet,...

Re: Superman - The Complete Animated Series ----> 11/24/09

Justice League - The Complete Series (http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/Justice-League-The-Complete-Series/12495)

That was quick.

Re: Anyone remember my rants for supporting comic shops & never using sites like DCBS

It also contains the Gaiman BATMAN: BLACK & WHITE story, and the Gaiman SECRET ORIGINS stories. Still, pretty thin.

Re: Next Daredevil Graphic Novel to read?

Diggle did some work at DC & Vertigo - Green Arrow: Year One, Batman: Rules of Engagement, Adam Strange: Planet Heist, Swamp Thing: Bad Seed, and the creator-owned THE LOSERS (soon to be a major...

Re: Next Daredevil Graphic Novel to read?

This really confused me at first, but I read back over my post and I worded the Bendis part really sloppily. I highly recommend his run, but I said "skip to," which is easily misread as just "skip."...

Re: Next Daredevil Graphic Novel to read?

After Miller's run, Ann Nocenti had a good, lengthy run. Unfortunately, it's not collected. Daredevil subsequently fell into the awful realm of the 1990s. Once that was over, Kevin Smith came in and...

Re: What to read?

DC's Vertigo line has a few a creator-owned series that are absolutely amazing. There's FABLES and JACK OF FABLES, NORTHLANDERS, DMZ and SCALPED.

Marvel's very limited ICON line has INCOGNITO and...

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see

I don't think INFERNO and MUTANT MASSACRE are technically Omnibus; neither were solicited that way. Inferno is the size of one of the smaller omnibus, Daredevil, Iron Fist, etc. Mutant Massacre,...

Re: How many of you are so DVD obsessed that you…

I have all 4 Highlander films. (The Source doesn't exist, I'm sorry.) To make owning 2 bearable, I keep it right before 4, pretending it's some crazy dream Connor had while in the Sanctuary. Yeah.

Re: Iron Man 2 - April 2010 (Favreau is directing)

Someone up above asked about the roster of the film.

The villains, from what I've heard, are Justin Hammer and Whiplash, the latter being in the employ of the former.

Comic book Whiplash:

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see

The CRIMINAL omnibus hasn't been solicited yet. It'll be in this month's solicitations. Brubaker confirmed this on BleedingCool.com. I figure this'll cover #1-10, 1-7, which seems sparse for an...

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Hood, 2009) — The Reviews Thread

Re: Vampire Romance Novels?

Caitlin Kittredge's NOCTURNE CITY series isn't bad. (Vampire romance isn't quite my thing, so that's saying something.)

Re: Marvel Omnibuses you'd like to see

The four stories in that DISASSEMBLED hardcover are entirely unrelated. The THOR story was good, but had its own paperback. The rest isn't worth your time.
