While I enjoyed Salvage and Release I have to agree that Angelus was a bit of a letdown... shame really because I don't think it would have taken much... one or two really vicious acts on his part...

I think Giles did start to grow in the later...

I think Giles did start to grow in the later parts of S3 and in S4 on BtVS, but then regressed in S5.... and I think the lack of an interesting character arc for Giles is big part of what went wrong...
