Re: So, what does movie "X" become without its featured plot?

It's possible that, if Carrie didn't have psychic powers, her Mom, while still being a religious nut, would not believe Carrie to be possessed or evil.

Re: So, what does movie "X" become without its featured plot?

Alien (1979)

Idiot does not take of his helmet to get a better look at alien biology. The movie becomes a political commentary.

Re: So, what does movie "X" become without its featured plot?

Nobody heard his last words. It's just a biography and nostalgic estate sale.

Lyrics help, please!

I've tried Google without result.

What song is it that starts "Woke up this morning, wasn't where I should have been." ?

It's driving me nuts trying to remember the rest of the song.

Re: Things that great on you in movies

I also cringe when a movie uses crass behavior to show that a character is "stupid". I watched part of "Dumb and Dumber" to oblige a friend, and the jokes weren't "dumb", they were crass.
The...

re: Things that great on you in movies

When a suspenseful scene gets stretched and stretched and s t r e t c h e d. The final stages of the rescue in The Martian, for example. The movie as a whole was good, but that part was really...

Re: Movies with such glaring holes they ruin everything else

Wrath of Khan plot hole is easy to patch. When Kirk marooned Khan and his people there, he didn't properly document it. He just dropped everyone off and left. It's the sort of jerk move he would have...

Re: Underrated horror movies and the lesser known stuff

I finally remembered this one, it's high quality, starring Rock Hudson.

Seconds, 1966

It's science fiction, but gets very creepy, and raises a lot of philosophical questions about identity, and...

Re: Underrated horror movies and the lesser known stuff

Psychomania (1973) The terror of an immortal motorcycle gang. Also a cautionary tale for those dabbling in the occult.... know the source of your power.

Re: Underrated horror movies and the lesser known stuff

I'm going to argue that The Bride isn't really a horror movie. It's philosophical romance.

Primer isn't horror either, but it's still scary.

Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter is a fun Hammer...

Re: Best bits of dialogue

Plan 9 From Outer Space

"Your stupid minds! Stupid! Stupid!"

I like this line partly because I agree with the sentiment. I am also amused by the fact that the alien speaking plans to cow Earth...

Re: disgusting spam

Nope, I didn't accuse IB of doing anything illegal. I just accused them of being opportunistic and disgusting.

Re: disgusting spam

I did click remove me, and tell IB not to let this ever happen again. I never opted in for that in the first place. You're disgusting people.

disgusting spam

I'm getting messages from "DVD Talk Newsletter" that seem to be actually related to this site. The messages are offensive, and scams. Have we been sold out? Am I now doomed to a cascade of filth...

Re: Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (2017) S: Evans, Hall, Heathcote, Britton

Every little detail explained.

"That's why children hang up stockings." "So, that's where the flying reindeer came from!" "Oh, that's why he lives at the North Pole."

It's there, it really...

Re: Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (2017) S: Evans, Hall, Heathcote, Britton

I enjoyed the movie, but was irresistibly reminded of this movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066327/
