I'd go with the Oppo or maybe the zenith dvb-318. Though the Oppo seems to have regular firm-ware upgrade and I hear that they are fixing the Y/C delay problem on them in the latest.

I agree, if you only got $500 or less to spend this is the way to go. Plus you can always upgrade down the line, if you get a HTIB then you always end up stuck because most integrate a dvd player...
