Re: Fantasy Island (2020, D: Jeff Wadlow)

I just got back from a showing and would agree. I found it enjoyable, with some surprising twists and a solid cast.

I sat through the end credits and they did credit Gene Levitt for creating the...

Re: The Orville (S2E06) -- "A Happy Refrain" -- 1/31/19

I'm suffering Halston Sage withdrawal. The new actress just isn't doing it for me.

Re: The Flash (S5E09) -- "Elseworlds, Part 1" -- 3-Night Crossover Event -- 12/9/18

I don't have a real problem with the appearance in age. They already established that Kryptonians age slower on Earth, so it makes sense that Lois would currently look older than him.

Re: DC partners with Walmart

I visited a local Wal-Mart yesterday and they had the second issues of Superman and Justice League.

Re: What's the first nude scene you can remember having a real impact on you in a mov

Probably Jenny Agutter in Logan's Run. She spent most of the film half naked anyway, but got there fully on a couple of occasions.

Re: I never paid any attention to HerOes...

I recall reading at the time that the original plan was that each season would focus on a different group of heroes. My guess is that the popularity of the first season messed that up and, either on...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (R. Johnson, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Sorry, but that's just straight out not true. Rey's conception of her role in the grand scheme of things is different than it was at the beginning of the film, Finn was taking a more proactive role...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (R. Johnson, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Well, I can only speak for myself, but I wasn't hoping she was related to the main characters from the prior films. The Star Wars universe seems too small already.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (R. Johnson, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

There's a grid with a day-to-day comparison here:

There's really not enough data to come to any long-term...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (R. Johnson, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Well, to be fair, unless and until you actually see the film, you don't really know what "this type of stuff" is, you're only operating off of subjective assessments in online reviews. And, as...

Re: Sell me on Hulu

I am enjoying some of their current original programming. I haven't tried "Handmaid's Tale", but I'm currently watching and enjoying "Marvel's Runaways" and "Future Man".

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (R. Johnson, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

And I believe I read that, in one of the early scripts for Empire, Luke actually met his father, who was definitely not Darth Vader.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (R. Johnson, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Actually, I believe Yoda's exact words were something like "that library contained nothing that the girl Rey does not already possess." So, Yoda knew and was essentially trolling Luke.

Re: Rank the Star Wars films

Interestingly, Deadline has an article on just this subject:

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (R. Johnson, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Out of curiosity, what in TFA did you feel misled people into believing that Rey's parents were important/related to Skywalkers/etc.? There's a difference between being misled and making incorrect...

Re: Justice League (Snyder, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

To be honest, that was my takeaway after seeing it this morning, as well. It really felt like a by-the-numbers film, with little that we haven't seen, a relatively dour tone despite some quips, and...

Re: MacGyver (CBS) -- Season 2 Thread -- Premieres 9/29/17

I've already started referring to the new girl as Poochie (or Pucci, works just as well).
