I highly recommend giving it a listen, many thought it was the best of the trilogy. Personally I'd give the slight edge to Uno, but this is right there with it.

Except that song is terrible and American Idiot is actually good. I don't hear much similarity between the two songs either, but if hating on The Day helps you sleep at night, go ahead lol.

Time of Your Life is not awful bud, it is a great, timeless song. I really don't know what's not to like about, except for maybe feeling like its played out (which I don't but can see the argument)....

Please find me a song from a punk band that sounds anything close to Time of Your Life, before that came out? I never said they invented the ballad, but punk bands were not making acoustic songs...

After hearing the new trilogy, I think Green Day deserves to be mentioned amongst the all-time greats, and I would certainly argue they are the goat. They now have a lengthy, quality catalog to back...

I never said it was a fact (opinions can't be facts), but in my opinion it is far superior. Look around the web, many other old school Green Day fans feel the same.
