For me, horror films are intended to inspire fear in the audience, preferably with an other-worldly menace, e.g. The Exorcist or the 1963 version of The Haunting.

You guys need to rewatch the first Evil Dead movie because Evil Dead Rises mirrors it fairly well. It's goopy, gross, there is zero humor, and everyone dies, including Ash.
