My CH-300 will display closed captions if the CC...

My CH-300 will display closed captions if the CC option is turned on in the menu... no video subtitle decoder is needed, and the subtitles are outputted as part of the video signal through the coax...

I have a Cyberhome CH-300 that decodes closed...

I have a Cyberhome CH-300 that decodes closed captioning separate of my TV... the captions are smaller and different looking than TV-based captions, and have to be turned on in one of the DVD...

You can run a search here...

You can run a search here (http://videomatica.bc.ca/system/rental.asp) and see if they have the DVD in their catalog... if so, you can click to see a scan of the back of the DVD box
