I have a Toshiba 2200. It's ok. I've never had a real problem with it. It's got a two-disc tray. Component video looks nice. I heard someone say that some Toshiba's have the chroma bug.

I believe you want to go with Optical. I found that digital coax has a little more noise. Go with a higher-end product. I use Monster cables but I've heard others trash them because of the price tag....

I used to live in an apartment. The trick is not to abuse your power. Play your H.T. (loud) during the day and maybe early in the evening. Maybe check with your neighbors before you start the movie....
