Re: eBay and Feedback

I've had very few mishaps on Ebay. For the most part, sellers are great and I get items as described.

But there was one very rare record I bought (so rare it was the first copy I saw online and...

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

This.

Not to mention they are offering ALL the specials to Prime members only early. So that means SOLD OUT for everybody else on the truly good stuff.

I am half tempted to sign up for "Prime"...

Re: The Jim Gaffigan Show (TV Land) - Series Discussion Thread - premieres 7/15/15

I found other things to do when that episode aired. I only listened to it in the background. Maybe it's trying to be the new show about "nothing?" Because it was really about nothing.

Re: Comic Book Rant - Hard to get rid of anything

I don't know about Bud Plant catalogs, but I've seen catalogs in general go for good money on Ebay. Old Sears and JC Penny's catalogs, especially.

These are the things nobody saves and when...

Re: Comic Book Rant - Hard to get rid of anything

The most surprising thing I found that sells for some what decent money on Ebay: old issues of Spin Magazine. Unfortunately, my copy of the first issue was damaged and beyond salvaging by the time I...

Re: Comic Book Rant - Hard to get rid of anything

Sometimes it's just the matter of finding the right collector who has been interested.

It's an old adage but true in this market: One man's trash is another man's treasure.

I've come across...

Re: The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (premieres Sept. 8, 2015)

Speaking for myself, I DVR nearly every late night show. Mainly for the live music (I save the songs as WAV files) but I only regularly watch Fallon and Kimmel. I rarely watched Letterman. I found...

Re: New TV advice

It's funny you mention that. When I first bought my plasma screen back in 2008, that was the exact method I used to test the TVs on the show room floor. I wasn't even looking for a plasma, but it...

Re: New TV advice

Obviously the higher price point was set while considering a 4K TV. Even I know nobody would have to spend that much on a regular HD TV, but I certainly do appreciate the links. As a matter of...

Re: New TV advice

I stopped watching local news the first time I noticed the problem. That didn't stop it from getting worse. Station bugs are clearly the problem.

And it may be the mfgr but I've heard of plasma...

The picture quality on mine is really deteriorating.

Here is an example:

Re: New TV advice

Yeah, this is what I am leaning towards. And reading up on the size of the screen you'd need to really see the difference...well...I would never want a screen that big. It's too imposing for my...

New TV advice

I am ready to buy a new TV, but have a few questions about 4K technology.

First off, I am willing to spend $800.00-$1500.00 for a set. I am not looking to waste money, but if I can get a great...

Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar

I, for one, would not petition any store open on Thanksgiving day. That's their right if they want to that, and it's the consumers right to choose if they want to shop or not. As for those decrying...

Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar

Is the Fringe complete set on Blu-Ray worth upgrading if you already have the DVDs? I mean, is it like Firefly where the picture quality between the two is vastly different or are they from the same...

Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar

I don't know if it went under review on Thursday. That's just the day I noticed it. The point is it was under review when they added it to the calendar but decided to not honor it in the end.

Re: The Michael J. Fox Show - Series Premiere - "Pilot"/"Neighbor" - 9/26/13

It's just a tired format. The Office (the original British The Office) pulled it off because it was reasonable to think that a documentary crew would follow them for the six episode arc. The...

Re: The Michael J. Fox Show - Series Premiere - "Pilot"/"Neighbor" - 9/26/13

Wait. So this is like the Office or Modern Family? Deleting from DVR unwatched. I can't stand that crap anymore.

re: The Goldbergs (ABC) - Season 1 Thread - Starring Jeff Garlin

I thought it was fairly funny. It's not the best sitcom since MASH or anything, but it's better than the run of the mill ABC comedies. I would much rather watch this than Modern Family.

As for...

Re: Shark Tank (ABC) -- Series Thread Part II

Yeah, the show is pretty good. In fact, I just stopped by Bed Bath and Beyond to buy some Scrub Daddies this morning. As if Lori needed more money. But the product works!
