Re: Radiohead -- "LP9" -- New Single: Burn The Witch

I would put this in the upper echelon of Radiohead albums, along with OKC, KA and IR. It's brilliant. I would have paid the album price for The Numbers alone.

Re: Radiohead -- "LP9" -- New Single: Burn The Witch

Love the video but the song is a freaking masterpiece. Ominous, epic, soaring and brilliant. Jonny Lee Greenwood has gone from the best guitarest going early on to an astonishing orchestrator. It...

Re: The 88th Academy Awards --> 2016 Awards Show Discussion

We might not agree with his politics or how the media has come to his rescue this year but the fact is DiCaprio can act his ass off. I don't want to see another Peter O'Toole or Richard Burton deal...

Re: The Walking Dead (S6E09) -- Winter Premiere -- "No Way Out" -- 2/14/16

Greg is absolutely the go to director for action episodes of TWD. Excellent top to bottom. I have a feeling that next week we get introduced to a major new character, namely Paul Monroe.

1968 take the Oscar for Best Actor from Cliff Robertson for Charley and give it to Peter O'Toole for The Lion in Winter.

Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Abrams, 2015) — The Reviews Thread

I'm on board and I think If he does what I think he might, Hamill may get nominations for this next film. You go back to The Big Red One, Hamill is a hoss of an actor. He just hasn't had chances. ...

Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Abrams, 2015) — The Reviews Thread

I went and saw this in 3d last night with some friends. Good conversion but I'm sure it plays just as well regular. A smallish but good crowd who especially got the humor. As to the film, it's...

Re: Halloween III: Pure genuis or Pure Crap?

I think this is a wildly underrated film. Loads of creative moments. One of Carpenters best soundtracks too. Besides the two excellent leads I greatly enjoyed Dan O'Herlihy. He has a great...

Re: The Walking Dead -- Season 6 News, Rumors, Castings

If Dillahunt is playing who we think he is, this is some knock it out of the park casting. My God.

Re: The Walking Dead (S6E03) -- "Thank You" -- 10/25/15

Purely my speculation....

Gimple sent a note to Talking Dead tonight that Glenn would show up again in some form. My thought, a rescue mission for Glenn is launched, they find him as a zombie and...

Re: Directors right out of film school directing a movie?

John Carpenter's Dark Star was a senior student film by he and Dan O'Bannon while they were in USC film school. It ended up getting released in theatres though I'm not sure how wide the release was....

Re: Best 'Actresses in Panties' scenes in movie history ?

Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta. I'm still not sure how she didn't show the goods with her thighs open as she tumbled off the bed. Maybe she did and CGI fixed it.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015, Abrams) S: Hamill, Ford, Fisher

I keep seeing people comparing the prequels to the new trilogy, moneywise. The prequels were horrible. They were utter dogsh*t. The prequels made boatloads of money. Can anyone get their heads...

Re: Movie scenes you feel contained some of the best acting ever filmed.

One I've never been able to take my eyes off of is Nick Nolte's scene at the end of North Dallas Forty. Just about perfect.

Also, Paul Newman in the opening Minnesota Fats match in The Hustler. ...

Re: Fear the Walking Dead (S1E01) -- 90 minute Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 8/23/15

I gotta say, I thought this was just fine. This is the beginning of the apocalypse and society is still intact. It's not supposed to be a thrill ride starting out. I thought the acting was good,...

Re: When good shows go bad?

IMO, the first two seasons of Star Trek: TOS were as good as science fiction could get at the time. For the third season, which only happened because of a massive write in campaign by fans, Gene...

Re: William Shatner presents: Chaos on the Bridge -- Star Trek: TNG documentary

If Roddenberry hadn't been shoved out after the first season, TNG would have ended after the first season. The first season of TNG is one of the worst seasons of anything I've ever seen. He simply...
