Not sure what could be wrong, but I doubt a 19" Samsung is worth getting fixed. It would probably cost $100 or more to get fixed.

Probably be better off saving up and getting a new 19" or 20"...

Well I don't have either the RV30 or the Sony. But if playing CDR's and CDRW's is important, I don't think the Sony models play them and am not sure about the Panasonic.
