Re: Bob Marley: One Love (2024, D: Reinaldo Marcus Green) S: Kingsley Ben-Adir, Lashana Lynch

I saw this Sunday, mainly because my 13 year old son is a fan of him. I think one of the reason it has had success is because it does appeal to many. There was a wide range of people, young and old...

Re: Wonka (2023, D: Paul King) - S: Chalamet

I actually liked it. Thankfully it wasn't a rehash of the original again and a new story instead. I wouldn't mind seeing sequels.

Re: Andre Braugher dead at 61

Pembleton was such a great character, ridiculous that isn't available anywhere to stream. No a fan of B99 but watched it just to see him.

Re: Older movies you wish you could experience with an audience during their original theatrical release?

That would certainly be interesting going back in time and showing movies. Give me the reactions of a WWII audience after seeing Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List

Re: Older movies you wish you could experience with an audience during their original theatrical release?

The original Star Wars would have been great but I think comedies are the best when everybody in the audience is really into it. Maybe Blazing Saddles, Airplane or Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

Re: Good Burger 2 (2023)

An unnecessary sequel but Kennan and Kel have great chemistry. It was nice to see them together again. A lot of nonsense but what else do you expect from Goodburger. My kids love the original and it...

Re: Five Nights at Freddy's (2023, D: Tammi)

I felt the premise had potential but not entertaining or scary.

Re: Disney/Pixar's Elemental (2023, D: Sohn)

Saw this with my two kids yesterday. My 9 year old really wanted to see it but the 12 year old ended up liking it better. I had no idea the Carl/Dug short was going to be there so a nice surprise. I...

Re: Movies that always make you laugh, no matter how many times you have seen it?

I saw The Man Who Knew Too Little in a theater during a stressful time in college and it was exactly what I needed. Still watch it today when I just need to laugh. It is basically Bill Murray being...

Re: Scream VI (2023, D: Bettinelli-Opin, Gillety) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

Watched this over the weekend and they had me at the start with those initial killings but dragged on and couldn't keep my interest.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983 D: Marquand) S: Hamill, Ford, Fisher, Williams

I enjoyed the screening I went to on Tuesday. There was a bunch of noise and clapping when the 20th century fox logo came on and the Star Wars music to start. After that it was pretty silent until...

Re: Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983 D: Marquand) S: Hamill, Ford, Fisher, Williams

Seeing this tonight for the first time since 83 when I was 6. Didn't bother to go to the special edition of this in 97 even though I saw Star Ware and Empire. Looking forward to seeing it in a...

Re: RIP: Jerry Springer - Dead at 79

I attended the Springer show once about 15 years ago as we happened to be at the building when they were filming. It was a long show, maybe only half ended up airing, but Springer did appear to be a...

re: The Traitors - Peacock Original reality competition

I also didn't think there was much in the way of stakes, almost like they would eventually reach the $250,000 max no matter what. I do wonder how future seasons will play out, Cirie was definitely...

Re: The Mandalorian (S3E02) - "Chapter 18: The Mines of Mandalore" - 3/8/23

I would agree with that. Andor set the bar pretty high, it is hard to maintain that level and Mandolorian isn't there.

Re: The Mandalorian (S3E01) - "Chapter 17: The Apostate" - 3/1/23

Was in no rush to see this episode and not good, reminded me of Rise of Skywalker. Hopefully second episode is better, no need to remember this one.

Re: MoviePass... would it work for you? [UPDATE: THE DEAD SHALL RISE]

We'll see if it lasts but I am going to try the $10 and see how it goes. At the very least can see a few matiness with my kids.

Re: A Man Called Otto (2022, D: Forster) S: Tom Hanks

Saw this yesterday on $5 Tuesdays. Had previously seen the trailer and some commercials but didn't really know the plot. Assumed it was a Grumpy old man type movie but darker and more tragic than I...

Re: The "Can you believe they went from___ to ____?" Thread

I thought Neil Patrick Harris would pretty much be done after Doogie Howser but after about a decade out of the spotlight played Barney Stinson.

Re: The Santa Clauses (Disney+) - S: Tim Allen - premieres 11/16/22

This turned out to be okay but also kind of pointless. I liked Bernard in the 5th episode, might have been the best of the bunch. In the end nothing really changed, with the the life and career they...

Re: Cocaine Bear (2023, D: Banks, P: Lord/Miller) S: Russell, Liotta, Ehrenreich, Jackson, Ferguson

To no surprise pretty much all of it is Hollywood liberties except the Bear did consume cocaine.

Re: A Christmas Story Christmas (2022, D: Kaytis) - S: Peter Billingsley

Probably should have done this a decade earlier, Billingsley must have aged a ton the last few years, no way Julie Hagerty would be his Mom.
