Re: Ticketmaster--where's the outrage?

I just bought a ticket to a gig in England for Feb 2025. Ticket price = 49.75. Convenience fee = 1.25. I was amazed.

Re: Pearl Jam - Dark Matter (4/19/24)

Got in the presale for Wrigley night 2. Tickets in the 400 section (the top of the stands) were $425. Tickets on the field were $982. :D :D :D
They can fuck right off at those prices. I've seen them...

Re: Far Cry Primal (PS4, XB1, 2/23/15; PC, 3/16)

Hated Primal. My least favorite Far Cry game by a mile. But I know some people really rate it.

Re: The Traitors - Peacock Original reality competition

The UK and Australian ones are fantastic. Absolutely no need for "celebrities" in the US one. I'm over pushing reality "stars" into every other show.

Re: The Official METAL! Thread- Metalcore, Thrash, Progressive, Death, and MORE

Yeah. Bill Steer uses old Gibson Les Paul Juniors all the time. He doesn't even change the P90 pickups on them.

Re: The Official METAL! Thread- Metalcore, Thrash, Progressive, Death, and MORE

Correct on both counts. These were re-recorded live in the studio. And the original "Slowly We Rot" is (amazingly) recorded in standard tuning. And people still say you can't play heavy music on a...

Re: The Official METAL! Thread- Metalcore, Thrash, Progressive, Death, and MORE

Saw Magnum dozens of times in the 80's in England. They were always either supporting someone I wanted to see or had someone I wanted to see supporting them. I was never a huge fan, but they always...

Re: Geordie Walker dead at 64

Terrible loss. Amazing guitarist in an iconic band. Always loved how his guitar (especially live) seemed to be on the edge of catastrophic feedback but he somehow managed to rein it in. Been a fan...

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors

Just cancelled mine. Hardly ever use it and the price hike reminded me of that.

Re: Video Game actors strike looming

I play a ton of video games and couldn't care less who does the voices. Keanu Reeves was just annoying all the way through Cyberpunk. So if the companies want to use internal employees for voices I'm...

Re: Welcome to Wrexham (FX) - docuseries about Rob McElhenney & Ryan Reynolds as owners of a football clu

No, it's not. There's usually a family section where there's less swearing and generally better behavior. But you can't miss 40,000 fans singing "The referee's a wanker" no matter where you sit.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)

I played it about a month ago for the first time and really enjoyed it.

Re: Far Cry 4 -- November 18, 2014 - PC, PS3, 360, PS4, Xbox One

Tried to play Primal 3 or 4 times and given up every time. Loved all the Far Cry games except that one. Hated it. Just couldn't get into it.

Re: The Official METAL! Thread- Metalcore, Thrash, Progressive, Death, and MORE

I was a big Vio-lence fan back in the 80's. Actually went to a wedding a few years ago with Sean and Perry (singer and drummer). But I wasn't thrilled with the new EP. It was decent. Unfortunately...

Re: The Official METAL! Thread- Metalcore, Thrash, Progressive, Death, and MORE

Last time I saw WASP was back in '87 when they had a topless nun tied to a cross being whipped. :D
I doubt Blackie has the energy any more. :)

Re: Worst "guitar/bass" necklace wearers?

That album has a terrible mix. I saw Testament on that tour and Greg Christian was playing the shit out of his bass. Louis Clemente, on the other hand, sounded like he'd either taken a ton of speed...

Re: Metallica - 72 Seasons / World Tour 2023-2024

The main "Temptation" riff and chorus sounds like a sub-par Prong song.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

Prices have come down a lot recently, although they're still artificially high. Just has a quick look at Best Buy - 3060 = $399, 3070 = $550, 4070Ti = $829. A 3060 or 3070 will easily see you through...

Re: Ticketmaster--where's the outrage?

Bands are starting to post now that it's becoming harder and harder to make any money touring (unless you're a mega-act playing stadiums). The costs of flights, fuel, truck/bus hire, visas etc. are...

Re: The Official METAL! Thread- Metalcore, Thrash, Progressive, Death, and MORE

I used to go to the Decibel tour pretty much every year, but that lineup does little for me. The revitalized Milwaukee Metalfest on the other hand .... last time I went was 2002. I'm not a big Jamey...

Re: Ozzy Osbourne cancels shows / will no longer tour

Good luck to him. Seen him lots of times both on his own and with Sabbath, all the way from being smashed off his face in the early 80's to his more recent sober state. He doesn't owe anybody...
