Re: Twin Peaks (S1E03/E04) -- "The Return - Parts 3 & 4" -- 5/28/17

Ah, I'd forgotten about the "HI!!!". I'm sure there's a lot more I'll catch on a second viewing.

I just hope we get the old Coop back soon enough that we can enjoy him for a while before it's all...

Re: Twin Peaks (S1E03/E04) -- "The Return - Parts 3 & 4" -- 5/28/17

Some thoughts:

While BOB certainly has a part to play in the influence and creation of doppelgangers, I don't believe BOB is inside Doppel-Cooper. I think BOB only possesses normal humans. The...

Re: Parks and Recreation (NBC) - The 7th & Final Season Thread - premiering 1/13/15

I love that the finale made me think of both "The Dead Zone" (Leslie seeing the future when she makes skin contact), and "Highlander" (the immortal Gayle Gergich!).

Re: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (Jackson, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

Yes, I believe that's the case in the book. I wasn't sure if the Eagles were going to show up in the movie, so I thought for a while that Jackson had replaced them with Bats. But then the Eagles...

Re: ‘Twin Peaks’ Returns As Showtime Limited Series From David Lynch & Mark Frost

Well, Dick thought Little Nicky was the devil, so maybe he's grown up to be our new villain.

Re: ‘Twin Peaks’ Returns As Showtime Limited Series From David Lynch & Mark Frost

Actually, if Alicia Witt was willing to reprise her role as Donna's sister, that would be a good way to keep a Hayward in the story

Re: Best Chill Out Albums of All Time?

One of my favorite chill-out bands is 'Bohren & Der Club Of Gore', usually described as "dark jazz". Sunset Mission and Black Earth are both great albums. If you're a Twin Peaks fan, you'll...

Re: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Jackson, 2013) — The Reviews Thread

I guess it was actually called the "droid foundry"? When Anakin, Padme, 3PO and flying R2 arrived on Geonosis they got stuck in there. They were dodging stuff on an assembly belt and Padme fell in...

Re: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Jackson, 2013) — The Reviews Thread

I'm another who hated the final battle in the forge. It reminded me of the "factory" sequence in Attack of the Clones, which is NOT a compliment. But I really enjoyed the rest of it, and thought...

Re: Thor: The Dark World (Taylor, 2013) — The Reviews Thread

Don't get me wrong, I liked the mid credit scene, but it has no importance whatsoever to the story I just watched. I would much rather have seen Thor and Jane's little moment come first before...

Re: Thor: The Dark World (Taylor, 2013) — The Reviews Thread

The two scenes should have been reversed. The scene that had some relevance to THIS movie should have come first, and then the tonal shift of BDT would have been more welcome after all the credits...

Re: Peter Hyams - Most Mediocre Filmmaker Alive?

I actually just listened to this commentary track last night and yes, his thoughts on actors and the use of shadow and widescreen made me respect him as a craftsman, at least. A good listen!

Re: Jon Lord - R.I.P.

(It was actually Purple bassist Roger Glover who produced a few Nazareth albums.)

In less than two years now I've lost my favorite singer (Dio), guitarist (Gary Moore), and now keyboard player. ...

Re: Parks and Recreation -- "Eagleton" -- 5/05/11

This was my favorite episode of the season so far. Individually, every episode has been good, but collectively I've been getting a little tired of so much focus on dating and who likes who. I...

Re: Lost -- 2 1/2 Hour Series Finale -- "The End Part 1 & 2" -- 05/23/10

I think he didn't bless the water because he couldn't hear what the hell Jacob whispered over his cup earlier. If Jack had tried, the scene would have been something like Bruce Campbell trying to...

Re: Lost -- 2 1/2 Hour Series Finale -- "The End Part 1 & 2" -- 05/23/10

More or less correct. I think Kate would have felt a little weird wearing the sexy black dress in the church. Once she realized that this was a world that they were creating themselves, she was...

Re: Lost -- 2 1/2 Hour Series Finale -- "The End Part 1 & 2" -- 05/23/10

Hey, after Kate delivered Claire's baby and Desmond said "Now do you understand?", what did Kate say?? I rewound it like five times and could NOT make it out for some reason.

I'm not crazy about...

Re: Lost -- "Across the Sea" -- 05/11/10

I don't know, I guess I'm finally willing to let the outrigger thing go. If they're jumping all over time, I'll just figure that in that scene they briefly materialized sometime between the...

Re: Lost -- "The Candidate" -- 05/04/10

[QUOTE=Flave;10141396]I usually react strongly to emotionally charged events like Sun/Jin dying, but I think I actually yawned last night during this scene. QUOTE]

Well I certainly didn't yawn,...

Re: LOST - "The Last Recruit" - 4/20/10

Agreed. They should both have been speaking Korean when they came together. The reveal that Sun's English was back could have waited a few moments til she could speak to someone else.

The magic...

Re: Lost -- "Everybody Loves Hugo" -- 04/13/10

No idea, but I'd really love to see a whole episode about Lapidus. Does anyone know if we saw his name crossed OFF in the lighthouse or the cave?
