Re: Fast X (Fast & Furious 10) (2023, D: Leterrier ) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

I'd imagine he just drives across the ocean using a combination of double clutching, NOS and timely grimaces. The same way he outruns nuclear explosions.

I thought the movie was a little better...

Re: Lego Masters

My 14-year-old son, who is very quick to laugh at his mother's reality TV indulgences, really enjoyed the pilot. Looks like we finally have a father/son show to watch, though I still need to educate...

re: Blood and Treasure (Now on Paramount+)

I came in ready to hate this show but I took to it right from the start. It knew what it was right from the beginning, a fun summer romp. Red herrings, twists and turns, knowing winks to touchstones...

Re: Your #1 favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe movie? (through Endgame)

First vote for Captain America: Civil War. I really enjoy the team-up movies the same way I always enjoyed the team-up comics growing up. Plus, I like that Civil War avoided the trope of the villain...

Re: The Toe Bro Cringe Worthy TV on A&E

My son just had his ingrown toenail dealt with for the second time. The first time it was done in-hospital (my wife and son walked into emerg and they did the removal there-and-then) and they removed...

re: Survivor: Edge of Extinction - Season 38 Thread

I think my favourite parts of the episode were watching Wendy's cartoon-like eye twitches whenever anyone on the tribe mentioned the chickens.

Re: The Walking Dead (S9E14) -- "Scars" -- 3/17/19

The commercials must have been a DirecTV thing because watching the show on AMC up here in Canada had no issues - with the commercials at least.

I didn't mind the episode - I don't mind the...

re: Survivor: Edge of Extinction - Season 38 Thread

That was a weird edit on Aubrey finding the HII. She takes off into the jungle in her teal romper (or whatever the hell she is wearing), but she finds the idol wearing a red bikini top and yellow...

Re: The Rookie (ABC) -- S: Nathan Fillion -- from the Producer of Castle

Glad to have this show as an L.A. cop show replacement for Lethal Weapon.

Re: Venom (2018, D: Ruben Fleischer) S: Tom Hardy

I'm not too worried about how Venom/the tendrils looked since they still have 5 months to polish the CGI - I am far more worried about the dialogue.

"I'm a reporter. I hear you're trying to kill...

Re: The Crossing (ABC) -- S: Steve Zahn, Sandrine Holt

I liked it enough but Steve Zahn spends the whole episode looking like someone just past the camara farted and he just caught a whiff. It was distracting after 15 minutes and hilarious after 30.

Re: Survivor: Ghost Island (S36E01/02) -- "Can You Reverse the Curse?" -- 2/28/18

I don't know if she is going for a Malcolm X/Farrakhan thing with those specs but whenever I see Laurel, I immediately think of Humpty Hump.

Re: Black Panther (Coogler, 2018) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Saw this last night. I stayed away from reviews and the hype as much as possible (other than seeing the B.O. numbers), so I don't feel like I went in with overly high expectations but I was let down...

Re: Thor: Ragnarok (Taika Waititi, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Saw it yesterday and absolutely loved it. Saw it with my kids and my sister and her one-line review upon leaving the movie was "I could walk right back in and watch it again!"

I thought the humour...

Re: The Middle (ABC) -- Series Thread

Just noticed that on our DVR the graphic for this season's shows reads "...The End" instead of "The Middle".

New Crichton novel - 'Dragon Teeth'

Was walking through the store the other day and saw that they have published another posthumous Crichton novel, this one is named Dragon Teeth. It's set in the late 19th century and is a, I presume,...

Re: Survivor: Game Changers (S34E05) -- "Dirty Deed" -- 3/29/17

It just looks like went with the marching orders "Queen Sandra" doled out at camp. I don't think she'll face any repercussions other than being at the bottom of the pack.

While I wouldn't say...

I'm another one who created scrapbooks full of movie ads, but if/when I could I would replace the black and white ad from the newspaper with the full-colour ads that were in the Tribute magazines...

re: Cardinal -- S: Billy Campbell, Karine Vanasse -- Series Thread

I think it was the long tracking shots at the beginning following the snowmobile, then the establishing shots showing the derrick, then into the halting dialogue. She just couldn't take it while I...

re: Cardinal -- S: Billy Campbell, Karine Vanasse -- Series Thread

Saw it and liked it a lot, though my wife gave up after the first commercial break. She found the pacing too slow and the dialogue too halting. It grated on her nerves, so I'm not sure how many were...

Re: Disney's Moana (2016 - Musker & Clement)

The very first result on Google.it is for the official Moana Pozzi website. That's presuming that Italian kids will use Google and not something more Italian-sounding like Altavista or something.

Re: The Walking Dead (S7E05) -- "Go Getters" -- 11/20/16

Everyone is bagging on Carl crashing the car but Ol' One-Eye's depth perception must be absolutely shot.

"Alright, that cement post is either across the street from that walker or righ-BANG!"

Re: Suicide Squad (Ayer, 2016) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Went in with lowered expectations and was entertained for my two hours. Landed around the mid-point for superhero movies I have seen this year, better than B v S, about tied with Nu-X-men 3 and worse...

Re: Life In Pieces (CBS) -- Series Thread -- Premieres 9/21/15

They were pretty clear about only inserting a finger, not the whole glove.

I liked the show a lot. I'm in for the long-haul.
