re: Edge of Tomorrow - Live, Die, Repeat (Liman, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

I agree. Godzilla has that not very compelling human character thing and X-Men sort of lags in the middle. Edge of Tomorrow is engaging through and through.

Re: Godzilla (Edwards, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

I think the key difference here though is that Jaws is the antagonist of his own movie. Hooper, Brody and Quint are the heroes so yes, they should be compelling because we don't want Jaws to eat...

re: Edge of Tomorrow - Live, Die, Repeat (Liman, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

Agreed. Read my comments again. You gotta admit "one of the worst" is a little over the top.

re: Edge of Tomorrow - Live, Die, Repeat (Liman, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

Yep. He had a fully formed idea of what he wanted the movie to be that he now considers it one of the worst movies ever.

P.S.-BTW, I really liked Edge of Tomorrow. Some good action, some slight...

re: Edge of Tomorrow - Live, Die, Repeat (Liman, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

The problem is that you think that I care whether you like Looper and you keep talking about the what you liked and didn't. I don't care. There's opinion and that's fine but the fact that you called...

Re: Where does "Seven" take place?

"Se7en" takes place in a world where I want to stab the person responsible for putting a 7 where the v should go.

Re: A sequel to "Blow" could be happening

So, Blow basically tried to ape Goodfellas' style so which Martin Scorsese movie does Blow 2 try to mimic? Hugo?

Re: Cancelled sequels that you were looking forward to?

I'm still holding out hope for a Breakin' 3. I want to find out what happens to the Electric Boogaloo.

Re: Godzilla (Edwards, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

I think you let your expectations get the best of you. Yes, the human element could've been more compelling, great even but I don't have the same problems with it as a lot of people do. I think if...

re: Edge of Tomorrow - Live, Die, Repeat (Liman, 2014) — The Reviews Thread

So, it's not the worst movie you've ever seen? -ptth- Yeah, I know you said one of the worst but I just have to let out a big fucking sigh when Looper is considered one of the worst movies anyone's...

Re: Dollars trilogy vs. Star Wars OT

Fucking Boba Fett wishes he were half as intimidating as a hair on Angel Eyes' nut sack.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015, D: Abrams) S: Hamill, Ford, Fisher, Serkis, von Syd

When ROTJ came out, I don't think anyone cared if he died or not outside of the little kids infatuated with the cool suit.

Re: Ant-Man (2015, D: ?) S: Rudd, Douglas

You've seen every Wright film multiple times but don't know about Cornettos? Even if you don't know what Joss Whedon looks like, it could've been a pic of some stupid fanboy holding up a Cornetto and...

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015, D: Abrams) S: Hamill, Ford, Fisher, Serkis, von Syd

He's dead but not for long. Even if the Boba movie is a prequel, he'll come crawling out of the Sarlaac Pit in the main series. And then everyone who disagreed with you that he wasn't dead will post...

Re: Your Top 5 Disney movies?

I'll go with Top five hand drawn theatrically released animated because I'm an adult who can make up his own mind even if given a thread title that can be interpreted any number of ways.

re: Godzilla 2 (201?, Edwards) S: Mothra, Rodah, Ghidorah

I think I just like the idea of them spending all kinds of money on doing an updated version of Smog Monster. He can even be an easy monster that Godzilla kills first, I just smile at the idea.

re: Godzilla 2 (201?, Edwards) S: Mothra, Rodah, Ghidorah

Yeah, you kind of blow your load too soon by putting King Ghidorah in right away. I'd like to see a sequel with some of the lesser known monsters. Sort of like where a handful of monsters pop up(Smog...

Re: Whats your favorite Batman movie that received a theatrical release?

Batman 89 is the first movie I got super hyped for. Saw the trailer in front of every movie I saw for months, waiting and waiting for the release date. I loved the movie when I finally saw it and had...
