Re: What movie quotes are in your everyday vocabulary?

I know, but I ddon't really have that phrase in my vocabulary anymore.

Never a one.

Between the two, I continue to easily avoid those notorious Adam Sandler cease and desist letters.

Re: After Midnight (CBS) - Host: Taylor Tomlinson

At first, I thought yes.

Then, i thought about it a little more.

1. She gets a steady gig and a steady paycheck. She's not pounding the TikTok pavement nor touring unless she wants to do so. ...

Re: What movie quotes are in your everyday vocabulary?

Oh, a thread revival, fun!

As I wrote recently in the IBilly Madison thread:

When I was rewatching it with the kids I was surprised to hear Billy Madison exclaim, "Oh, my gosh, I'm the...

Re: After Midnight (CBS) - Host: Taylor Tomlinson

Huh, I never made the connection that After Midnight was a revival of At Midnight.

I remember seeing a clip or two of that show but never watched it. There are people who seem like huge Chris...

Re: Openings or title cards to shows you always stick around for?

This is a good idea for a thread.

I recall watching the opening credits of Bojack Horseman every single time. The skip button was superfluous. That music and those images are just such a...

Re: Pearl Jam - Dark Matter (4/19/24)

Pretend I don't know anything about audio mixing, record producing, metallurgy, engineering, or physics, and just tell me what the heck you mean here.

Re: Suggestions wanted for unloading anime DVDs

If you decide all of the selling stuff is not worth your time and energy (and I hope it is), our oldest has fallen in love with anime and would likely watch and appreciate what you have to spare....

Re: Pearl Jam - Dark Matter (4/19/24)

Re: Any Billy Madison fans?

When I was rewatching it with the kids I was surprised to hear Billy Madison exclaim, "Oh, my gosh, I'm the winner." in a funny way. In the exact way that I frequently say it. The kids picked up on...

Re: The 2024 Rank'em As You See'em Thread!

There isn't a tremendous amount of participation in this thread - although I'll say this is my first time and I'm really enjoying myself! - and I'm curious how people handle repeat viewings. I...

Re: Deadpool & Wolverine (2024, D: Levy) - S: Reynolds, Jackman

This feels like a Phase 3 coda that makes Phase 4 all worthwhile by transitioning the story to Phase 5. I dig it.

Re: Any Billy Madison fans?

The kids enjoyed Happy Gilmore a few weeks back. They couldn't make it 10 minutes into this, they hated Billy so much.

"He's obnoxious on purpose. I don't want to see that."
"Don't you at least...

Re: Question about DVD storage in cases/binders...

I did that with the 24-disc holders around 10 years ago and my discs have been just fine.

Re: Abigail (2024, D: Bettinelli-Olpin & Gillett) S: Barrera, Stevens, Newton, Weir

Is this "scare gore" or "over the top" gore? Like, my oldest has seen and loves Psycho Goreman and Army of Darkness, and I've shown her some 80s schlock horror like The Stuff and The Gate, plus she...

Re: SNL general discussion thread

I hear you, I do.

On the other hand, I edited a comment that was an outright political statement that has nothing to do with the show. One could argue discussing former cast members' politics has...

Mod Note: This thread has walked the political line the last few days and is starting to dip over. Please watch it. Someone is always welcome to start a "celebrities and their politics" thread in...

Re: Civil War (2024, D: Garland) -- The Reviews Thread

Glad to see you pop in this thread, dvdjunkie32.

I've been telling people this is the movie I've most not wanted to see this year. The subject matter in these times is just challenging, and...

Re: One For The Money (01/27/12) Heigl as a female Bounty Hunter

I wanted a background movie while working on a project and went browsing on Peacock for some light, 90-minute fare. I was intrigued by the 2% Rotten Tomatoes rating. I don't know that I've ever...

Re: Pearl Jam - Dark Matter (4/19/24)

An old friend from high school and I went to the album visualization screening tonight. It was in the Dolby theater at our local AMC and it sounded great. Jeff did a brief intro, then the album...

Re: Marvel Animation’s X-Men ‘97 (Disney+) - premieres 3/20/24

The Ace of Base needle drop.

Or, check the time stamp of all the "Wow" posts that came on last Wednesday, the day that episode 5 dropped and then, think about the ending of that episode.

Re: Marvel Animation’s X-Men ‘97 (Disney+) - premieres 3/20/24

It's definitely going through major storyline quickly, that's for sure! I suppose they know they'll have far less episodes overall to tell these multi-issue, multi-title crossover, major storylines....

Re: Whiplash (2014, D: Damien Chazelle) - Miles Teller & J.K. Simmons

I finally caught this on Netflix tonight (it leaves April 30). I'd flipped it on as a background movie and it drew me in. I didn't get a thing done.

I'm a huge fan of Oz, so I knew the power of...
