You must add to the Sony IP patent portfolio coffers. MPEG2 is not the defacto codec because it is superior it's there because more companies in the BDA receive licensing fees from it.

Sell that thing. The second generation Blu-ray stuff will be out next spring. You can fetch a good price for it and if you decide to get a Blu-ray player in the future chances are it'll be better...
