Re: Writers Strike 2023

Minimum staffing is what the WGA really wants since (even before the strike) all networks and streamers are reducing scripted content which would reduce the amount of writers needed which would...

Re: Writers Strike 2023

Im just loving how active TV Talk is!

Meanwhile I’ll be watching my extensive catalog collection of shows while waiting the eventual return of The Rookie. It’s warm in Los Angeles today.

Re: Writers Strike 2023

It doesn’t matter to DVDTalk members. They want writers to make 10,000k a day and get $18 everyone an episode is streamed.

Ok Daddy.

re: Frasier (Paramount+) - revival series - premieres 10/12/23

The new season of Justified with zero returning cast besides the lead is the same thing (and it’s total crap)

Re: Ahsoka (S1E01&E02) - “Part One: Master and Apprentice” & “Part Two: Toil and Trouble” - 8/22/23

So to understand most of this I have to be a huge Star Wars fan and watch 4 seasons of a cartoon aimed at kids?

re: Frasier (Paramount+) - revival series - premieres 10/12/23

I’m going to watch this since I liked Frasier, but again no one asked for this. No one thought this was a good idea and none of the other cast?

Murphy Brown couldn’t even pull it off. Will and...

Re: Writers Strike 2023

Fair pay is in the eye of the beholder. The WGA minimums are already at $1000+ a day and waaaaay more if you write an entire script. Pretty fucking fair to me.

But they voted to strike, so I hope...

Re: Writers Strike 2023

It suck’s for those (BTL - crew, other businesses that support the industry etc) that did not vote to Strike…which is what I have been saying. Writers voted to strike so there is no sympathy for...

I know you’re super obsessed with the CEOs who make the big buckets and not the $1000+ a day writers who churn out some terrible scripts.

Sounds great! I’m bummed I won’t be able to see the...

Re: Writers Strike 2023

Maybe the rising price has to do with the fact that all
of them are losing money…and now writers want a bigger piece of the ever shrinking pie. So that … never mind.

Disgusting is $1000+ a day...

Re: Writers Strike 2023

Im asking what the “terrible pay” is since the article does not actually define what it is. Atleast the WGA has the balls to put it up (minimum of $1000 a day, better than what most people working...

Re: Writers Strike 2023

Im asking what “terrible pay” means since there is no mention of the actual pay. But I get it, everyone here is really happy to soon be paying more for streaming services for substantially less...

Re: Writers Strike 2023

“Terrible pay” which is what, exactly?

I hope a lot of people are prepared to find new employment in a different industry. We’re gonna see a massive decline in “new” content and frankly, thanks...

Re: Blu-ray and DVD sales - We're number 2, but we try harder

What? Walmart barely has physical media as-is besides new releases, some evergreen titles and “complete series”. It’s basically half an aisle, which I guess is decent in 2023, but why?

Re: The Mandalorian: The Complete First & Second Seasons - 4K UHD and Blu-ray

Cool for fans who want physical media. I’ll grab the Mandalorians Eventually when they hit sub $15 or so.

Re: Star Wars: Ahsoka (Disney+) -- news, rumors, etc.

I’ve never seen much of any of the animated shows so I hope I can still follow along. 6pm release is so much better. Finally, on the AppleTV+ schedule. Hulu, hello.
