I know what you're talking about - Fortunately, this hasn't happened to any of the discs in my boxset. Been contemplating on changing the case to a different amaray case just to be safe.

No, your PS2 is a region 1 player. It will not play other regions. The menus are there for the parental controls for other languages(IIRC from previous discussions).
