Re: Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024, D: Kenan)

Given that this is basically based on the cartoon, I’m looking forward to it.

Re: Civil War (2024, D: Garland) S: Dunst, Spaeny, Moura

Without reading anything, I figured action adventure drama, to the likes of Children of Men.

Re: The Crow (2024, D: Sanders) -- S: Bill Skarsgard

I’ll watch it because I adore the original. I didn’t think The Crow would end up like all the disappointing Predator movies. Some are less disappointing than others.

Re: Killroy Was Here (D: Kevin Smith)

I expected to like it. Red State was rough but solid. Kevin Smith’s earnest approach works well with his horror films.

I hope he made some money on this. Shame I have to work though figuring out...

Re: Killroy Was Here (D: Kevin Smith)

This popped into my head for some reason. I was thinking “does Kevin have an unreleased movie” because I thought of that featurette.

So in layman speak, how do I even watch this? Do I have to ask...

Re: SNL 03/09/24 (S49E14) — H: Josh Brolin - MG: Ariana Grande

People pleaser support group sketch had some deep cuts for me.

Re: Ricky Stanicky (2024, D: P. Farrelly) S: Cena, Efron

I still give either Farrelly a look because of their 3 perfect 90s comedies. If it wasn’t for the name, I would have given this zero priority.

Re: Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire (2023, D: Zack Snyder) - Netflix

First, I can see more views being valid.

Two, Netflix has the exact numbers.

Three, “bot traffic” makes up like 50% of all internet activity.

Four, viewing habits are altered. I’m watching...

Re: Alec Baldwin accidentally kills DP with prop gun, director shot as well

I would hope she ends up with no prison time. Accidents like this are tragic. Incarceration over an accident is wrong. I’m sure she will never get a job around firearms again. Giving prison time does...

Re: Imaginary (2024, D: Wadlow) -- S: DeWanda Wise, Tom Payne -- From Blumhouse

Cool hook. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being popular, even though it has a low RT rating.

Still waiting on my Drop Dead Fred legacy sequel.

I've seen TikToks where the theater is laughing like they're watching The Room.

Re: The Crow (2024, D: Sanders) -- S: Bill Skarsgard

I just tried to watch The Crow Salvation. It's barely a movie. The tone and editing is terrible. It has big leaps in basic logic.

The concept itself should be as reusable as a zombie movie....

Re: Did Anyone Ask for a Remake of "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead"?

I knew a guy who worked around those movies. Mostly the DTV ones that I’m sure haven’t survived. Some of those low budget direct to video projects started with just access to repurpose props from...

Re: Did Anyone Ask for a Remake of "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead"?

Nah the T Rex was just riding on movies like Encino Man. There was a whole five years of movies like that. Lots of duds. Whoopie Goldberg had that dinosaur cop movie too. Someone should make a...

Re: Did Anyone Ask for a Remake of "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead"?

I was in grade school, but already a movie dork. Here is how I remember it... It was very hyped, similar to Encino Man. It had a great hook, premise, and trailer. Applegate was loved as Kelly Bundy....

Re: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023, D: Wan) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread -- RIP DCEU 2013-2023

I'm all for Mamoa's BDE. The guy needs to get into the right roles to make us movie nerds love him.

This movie was so bad. File it away as a "really bad big budget sequel".

What comes after...

Re: The Crow (2024, D: Sanders) -- S: Bill Skarsgard

I said it before I think. It has to be violent and explosive, grunge aesthetic, with that mournful feel. To me, that's The Crow.

When he's taping the dude to the car seat and the dude is scared...

Re: The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live (AMC) S: Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira

Seriously. After awhile, I just roll my eyes. If the zombie apocalypse actually ends up like TWD, we deserve it.

I want to see a zombie movie where we deal with the crisis and move on from it.
