Re: Best Buy Finished w/ Physical Media?

For the Marvel stuff it was definitely super hero burnout. Ant Man 3, GotG 3, Dr. Strange 2, Black Panther 2. They were long, dark and just not exciting enough I would purchase. After 30 minutes of...

Re: Best Buy Finished w/ Physical Media?

That's sad for media but I can't complain since me and others like me are to blame. Haven't really bought much in years. Even gave up on the Marvel stuff after End Game. I still pick up some cheapies...

re: Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023, D: Steven Caple Jr.)

By the time Transformers hit daytime television I was too old so I missed it. The first one was enjoyable. Megan Fox obviously was hot. The entire rest of the franchise I just didn't get. They were...

Re: Castle (ABC) -- Season 8 Thread -- Premieres 9/21/15

I'm obviously a season behind in my binge. I do remember those Haley episodes reinvigorating the series. I don't own S8 and not sure I want to buy it for what I know will be a one time thing. Amazon...

Re: Last Show You Binged?

Finished s6 of Castle. Started S7. Loved the episode where Beckett had to find an old boyfriend who she was still married to until the finale. Didn't like the Castle disappearing arc. S7 starts right...

Re: Do you have time to re-watch old movies from your collections? (physical and digital)

I was actually going to Family Video every Friday for a few years until they raised the prices. Call me a dinosaur but I still prefer the physical media.

Re: Is there one show that is credited as the first “binge” watching show?

I can remember some marathons from decades ago on cable. Probably when DVD sets started to hit people did it without considering it binge watching.

Re: Do you have time to re-watch old movies from your collections? (physical and digital)

I get two movies a week from Netflix so those are the priority. Then I am usually working on a TV series on disc or DVR. I will usually watch at least one from the collection every weekend. That is...

Re: 140 Essential Action Movies Discussion Thread

Although Sci-Fi by nature are action movies I usually separate Sci-Fi and Action/Adventure as two distinct genres. Thought it must have been some sort of mistake. They had Revenge (2018) list with an...

Re: The last Blu-ray you bought (Round 3)

Re: Castle (ABC) -- Season 8 Thread -- Premieres 9/21/15

The earlier seasons with the flirty banter and growing personal interest and jealousy mixed in with some good procedurals were the best. They certainly had some strong episodes in the latter seasons...

Re: Last BD (or, unrealistically, HD DVD) you watched?

Although Spielberg did a great job of capturing the horrors of war on that beach, unfortunately he didn't represent the time frame very well. It appeared they made headway in 25 minutes. On Omaha...

Re: Last Show You Binged?

I'm finishing up S6. Finding the quality is falling off. Maybe it's just the known problems on the set so I'm looking for the lack of chemistry I wouldn't have noticed before. I did like the 70's...

Re: UHD release announcements

I always liked A League Of Their Own. I own it on BR and that's fine for that title. For as much as I like the UHD format, I couldn't find anything from SONY I would upgrade.

Re: The Good Place (NBC) -- Season 3 Thread -- premieres 9/27/18

Although I appreciate the desire to maintain quality over quantity, I love the show and would love to see it continue. On the other hand, the premise itself seems to have painted itself in a corner...

Re: John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (Stahelski, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Remember when he went to the tailor? He asked for tactical. It was definitely bulletproof. Of course that wouldn't help him with a four story fall.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Do you remember the scene in Sleepless In Seattle where Tom Hanks and his brother in law are discussing the end of this film? I remember watching DD as a kid and got very choked up at the end. Wasn't...

Re: Castle -- "Time Will Tell" -- 10/21/13

Just saw this episode last night. Loved this then, loved it now. Cool to see Joshua Gomez. (Do you think he and Fillion talked about Baldwin behind his back?) The best part was that in this one, they...

The reviews were right. This was terrible. Three in a row that were a waste of time.

Re: Best/Worst 4K UHDs you have seen

Haven't seen it in a while but I don't remember being particularly disappointed in it. I do remember the audio was a huge improvement over the HD DVD I upgraded from. I'll have to check it out again...
