Re: 2 Versions of Tropic Thunder

Thanks for the info. I was looking on amazon and I came across this review:

However, as much as I gotta say the movie rocks, I have to say: BUY THE THEATRICAL CUT INSTEAD. The unrated version...

Re: 2 Versions of Tropic Thunder

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've been looking to buy a blu ray copy of this movie for a friend. The problem is I can't seem to find the original theatrical version from 2008, only the...

Re: Netflix streaming movies/episodes unavailable on DVD?

Slightly OT but I can't seem to find a general Netflix thread. Does anyone know if it's still possible to put a Netflix account on hold? I don't see the option under my account settings...I could...

Re: Epson vs Panasonic in projectors

No doubt the colors are a bit skewed...but white looks white so I really don't think it's that far off. I've been watching like this for over 5 years now and I have the best TV of anyone I know. ...

Re: Epson vs Panasonic in projectors

Yeah, I thought it would too. But the panny is quite bright. Before I bought the projector I had thought I would eventually buy a screen once I figured out what size image I preferred. But the...

Re: Epson vs Panasonic in projectors

Yeah, I've had my current (and previous) panasonic projectors on a shelf about 6 feet up on the rear wall. Lens shift just makes setup a snap. And I don't know how accurate the 2,000 lumens spec on...

Re: 3D, BR players, and HDMI 1.3 vs 1.4

If 3D is important to you (with lossless sound) then consider a standalone player. Otherwise the PS3 is still a solid overall value.

I just ordered the DMP-BDT210...

Re: Epson vs Panasonic in projectors

I failed to mention that I also need lens shift. the 4000 looks like an excellent unit and I've heard great things about it...but it lacks the placement flexibility I need. It also appears to be a...

Re: Epson vs Panasonic in projectors

If the 8350 wasn't the size of a steamer trunk I'd probably be all over it. Been looking to upgrade my 2.5 year old Panasonic AX-200 but I'm not loving the options in the ~$1,000 price point at the...

Re: What's the best 3D BD player for $200-$300?

While I agree the PS3 is a great BD player, if I was buying a player now (and didn't plan on using the console for gaming) I would probably go a different route. It's more expensive than most of the...

Re: What's the best 3D BD player for $200-$300?

Interesting. Hadn't really considered a Blu-ray player and speaker system combo. He is in the market for speakers though...but I had hopes he would finally graduate to an AV receiver. Not sure...

Re: What's the best 3D BD player for $200-$300?

Is it a typo on the cnet site, or is it true about "no 3D Blu-ray support"? That, excellent picture quality and netflix streaming are his main priorities in the unit.

What's the best 3D BD player for $200-$300?

My friend's 6 year old 50" Panny plasma just gave up the ghost last night and we ordered him a 58" Samsung 3D plasma (http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=E7SAMPN58C680) to replace it. Now...

But I do agree with you that the film (can we call it a film?) could have been executed better. I really didn't find it scary or horrific...other than the thought of...

I think you could say that. He doesn't really give much in the way of explanation other than that "he doesn't like human beings." Basically he spent his working years separating people (conjoined...

I would think in theory it might be possible to feed the head a diet consisting of foods that are difficult to digest...think corn or plant matter. The problem is that you would likely have to keep...

Yeah, that taught me to at least open and examine the discs when they arrive. Nothing worse than sitting down to watch the movie only to find it's busted.
