My understanding is the lossless is only available thru the HDMI and a surround receiver that accepts HDMI and can process lossless. The PS3 is real quirky on audio output in my opinion.

Thanks! I did not know that. Turns out it has a native resolution of 720p but is capable of displaying up to 1080i. I think I did try once setting my HD DVD output to 720p as I heard some displays...

I noticed a slight difference on my 32" 1080i LCD. It varies by movie and I usually can tell the difference in smaller items, not in the close ups. Perhaps with a larger display it's night and day....

perhaps that is why they've been having all the generous/free HD DVD promotions as of late. I think the marketing people know what the their competitors have up their sleeve well before the consumer....

Only available directly from Nintendos website. 3rd partys are the way to go. acetraders currently has them available on eBay for a very reasonable price. Peace.
