re: Best Buy / bestbuy.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I always thought the same thing about points or financing that it was one or the other but not both. However in my case there was a 5x bonus promo and the sales person told me I wouldn't get the...

re: Best Buy / bestbuy.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Exactly. And when I called the CSR for reward zone and explained that my account DID show a $29 purchase for that transaction of an Mac Mini computer and I asked them to correct the amount so I would...

re: Best Buy / bestbuy.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I was burned the same way only it happened to me during their 5x point promo on a $900 purchase so it really pissed me off. The 5x points and 18 month financing is what swayed me to make the...

Re: Need For Speed Rivals (360, PS3, PC, PS4, XOne)

What's the differences between the PS3 and PS4 versions for those of us not buying a PS4 right away? I imagine the resolution is lower but are there any actual game play differences?

Re: Panasonic possibly exiting the plasma TV business

My girlfriend bought an LG plasma last year that has a fantastic picture. It has great controls for calibration without resorting to the service menus. We caught it on an open box special from Best...

Re: Might be time to upgrade the projector. Any new developments?

You can program it to leave certain things on if you want. I leave my cable box/DVR on all the time. You can even dupe activities so it will turn things off in one and leave it on in the other so...

Re: Should I buy a Receiver/Speaker in one package?

Also consider that a receiver that has features you like may have speakers that sound bad to your ears. Or speakers that you like the sound of are paired together with a receiver that is lacking in...

Re: Might be time to upgrade the projector. Any new developments?

That really is why I'm asking. The way I see it your HD70 is pretty equal to my Mits 1500. They're both 720p DLP models that were under $1000. So I'm curious how impressed you are moving from the one...

Re: Might be time to upgrade the projector. Any new developments?

So what were your first impressions of the PQ comparing your old DLP to this LCD? Black level and motion blurring are of particular interest to me.

This link says 99% of PJs up to 20lbs should work. Heavier than that and the case is to big to attach it to.

I liked the flexibility of this one. And it works universally so when I upgrade it should still work for me.

Re: Might be time to upgrade the projector. Any new developments?

Yeah I saw one in Best Buy and my reaction was the same as yours. That thing is a monster compared to the Optomas and a tad larger than the Mits models. I seems like DLP projectors are a smaller than...

Re: Might be time to upgrade the projector. Any new developments?

Yeah. The one I bought had the top and bottom of the frame in two pieces that had to be assembled to the sides. The screen had been looped on all four sides that you then slid plastic rods into....

Re: Might be time to upgrade the projector. Any new developments?

I bought an Elite 100" screen from Amazon that I'm happy with using my Mits 1500. My viewing angle is only about 12 feet wide from 13 feet back though. Some people with a wider viewing angle might...

Re: Might be time to upgrade the projector. Any new developments?

I'd say Skyfall but that's a few weeks away yet. You could try Frankenweenie for greyscale. My go to disc is almost always Fifth Element after calibration followed by any Pixar disc.

Re: Might be time to upgrade the projector. Any new developments?

Sounds like you got a great deal. I've been researching again like crazy since this thread was resurrected. I'm going to need to either replace the lamp in my Mits 1500 soon or replace the projector...

Re: Might be time to upgrade the projector. Any new developments?

Good luck with it. Right now though Amazon has the Mits HC4000 for $1120. Not really much more than you wound up spending. I've been looking at that one and the Epson too but I've read too many...

Re: Might be time to upgrade the projector. Any new developments?

You need to be careful of those generic housing too. The last generic I bought had a plastic tab on it that prevented it from fitting into the PJ the right way. After cutting it off to make it fit I...

Re: What's most important in a new TV?

LCD is also usually thinner and this is somehow more appealing to some people. I mean who watches their TV from the side. My girlfriend bought an LG plasma a year ago. I had her take the usual...

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

I think Gamestop is having a special trade in offer going on right now where you get an extra $75 towards a new PS3 bundle.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

That must be new. The last PS3 I bought before the new slimmer slim model had Madden 12 bundled with it in a normal Blu-ray keepcase.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Aaaaannnnnnddddd we're back!

I use the NYKO remote too. The only thing it won't do is turn the PS3 on and off but since I need to get up to put the disc in anyway I don't care.

Re: Need for Speed: Most Wanted is Burnout Paradise 2

I don't know about that, I've only been online twice so far and I'm having a blast completing all of the single player challenges. There's a lot to do in single player alone: finding all of the...

Re: Need for Speed: Most Wanted is Burnout Paradise 2

I never asked for realism in an arcade racer but even I was laughing when I ran over spike strips and slowed down to 20mph and the cops still didn't shut me down. They just kept driving along side me...

Re: Need for Speed: Most Wanted is Burnout Paradise 2

I'm liking it so far. Not as much as Burnout Paradise but its more of what I was hoping Hot Pursuit would be. I thought the cop chases in Hot Pursuit were great but there weren't enough of them...
